The Walkmen's Heaven is growing into one of my most favorite albums of the year. It's definitely my most listened to album so far this year, so I'm all ears to anything Walkmen related. The band just released a video for one of my favorite tracks on the album, "The Love You Love." Love the chorus to this one: "Baby, it's the love you love. Not me." Tweet
At the end of The Walkmen 's video for "Heaven" it showed singer Hamilton Leithauser crossing a road in NYC, and now today, after only 24 hours since their last video for "The Love You Love" , they've dropped another video that continues on from that street-crossing into a full-blown walk around NYC. "Heartbreaker" is from The Walkmen 's latest album Heaven , out now via Fat Possum. [...]

Beach House had a tough act to follow after the Walkmen opened the 2012 Summer Twilight Concert series in support of their new album Heaven, which has been getting much praise for good reason. What almost appeared to be a last minute soundcheck, Paul Maroon (lead guitar) quietly walked on stage playing guitar, often crossing his legs and making slow motions to the rhythm. Following shortly, Hamilton Leithauser (vocals, guitar) took stage and began singing "Line by Line." It was perfect. The rest of the band slowly came on stage, going into the album's upbeat title [...]

The Walkmen released another new video for The Love You Love from their latest LP, Heaven . The black and white clip was directed by Sean Pecknold and shows a somewhat creepy kid surveying a house filled with cat figurines. Watch below.

Before their new album Heaven was released, The Walkmen dropped a bunch of songs from it to promote its release. Now we're on video number two, after the memory-lane-walkin' "Heaven" came out in May. "The Love You Love" is the next single from the band's fantastic new album Heaven and was directed by Sean Pecknold, the brother of Fleet Foxes main dude [...]

Of all the newest albums, it seems The Walkmen's Heaven is getting the most raves in chats I'm having with friends. True, these New York dudes are in fine form this time around. A few weeks ago, I posted "Heartbreaker", which I feel would be a strong single. "We Can't Be Beat" leads off the album. It's acoustic, with a soothing, inspiring melody and beautiful harmonies. Perfect for late summer nights, or early weekend mornings…or anytime for that matter. - By Bruce Rave The Walkmen - We Can't [...]
Sorry for the delay, but here it is, the fourth and final post of my favorite albums of 2012 (so far). If I had to rank my favorite albums of the year today, at least three of the albums below would make the cut. But alas, I still have about 5 months to narrow it down, but please check back in December to see who makes the cut. If you haven't already, be sure to check out parts 1-3 ( part 1 // part 2 [...]
Beach House and the Walkmen are set to kick off the 2012 Summer Twilight Concert Series in Salt Lake City tonight July 5th at Pioneer Park. Gates at 5, Music at 7. Beach House is currently on tour in support of their fourth full length and critically acclaimed Bloom , which was released in May of this year. Often described as "Dream Pop & Indie Rock." Beach house is a duo from Baltimore consisting of Victoria Legrand (vocals/keys) and Alex Scally (guitar). Forming in 2004, they released their debut self [...]

American indie rock band The Walkmen have released their 7th studio album Heaven , and with it 13 new tracks with which to beckon both long-time fans and newbies. If you're new to The Walkmen, you'll find they've a different kind of rock sound that harkens back to 60s music, surfers…something indefinable bearing a sweet touch of yesteryear. The new release opens with the band crooning the subdued, highly listenable "We Can't Be Beat." With its simple, likable harmonies, it has a retro sound and tasteful electric guitar to finish out. [...]

The Walkmen By Sam Cleeve June 12, 2012 "The Rat! The Rat!". So resound the unattended yelps of a small but persistent (and let's face it, annoying ) minority of the audience assembled at Shoreditch's Village Underground for The Walkmen tonight. Only eventually to the New York/Philadelphia collective (tonight reduced to four, with bassist Walter Martin on paternity leave) yeild to these impatient requests, and to his credit, frontman Hamilton Leithauser shows little in the way of resentment towards what seems to [...]

The Walkmen have delivered Heaven , an album that will probably land on my year-end list. The title track is the current single, but "Heartbreaker" is my personal fave. Check it out below, and be sure to catch them on tour. A little small world note is that my eventual adventures with B3Sci began at a Walkmen SXSW gig in '05. Mike of B3Sci and I were in line next to each other and started chatting. The rest is history. - By Bruce Rave The Walkmen - Heartbreaker [...]

We have all heard the saying that with age comes responsibility. I quickly realized that once the four-year party that owns the moniker of college came to an end, a growing stack of accountability followed. Job deadlines, bill payments, and serious relationships promptly became the norm while days dedicated to vicious drinking sessions slowly fell by the wayside. If these immature days do pop up they are followed by a hangover so bad that you actually consider never drinking again. The hangovers continue to get worse and the false promises continue to grow. While nothing that I just depicted comes [...]

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars For a whole decade now, The Walkmen have been gracing your ears with their jangly rock music. Now, when I say that, I truly mean it; this band makes albums that linger in your music collection for long periods of time, seemingly timeless in their nature. Earlier albums proved rugged and loose, running wild with youthfulness and spunk, but as I said before, it’s been ten years, lead singer Hamilton Leithauser and company have grown up, and so has their music. [...]
