Vampire Weekend have released an official video for "Diane Young" that features an epic dinner featuring the elite class of indie rock. The dinner features Hamilton Leithauser from The Walkmen, Sanitgold, Chromeo, Dave Longstreth from Dirty Projectors, as well as Sky Ferreira. It's one of the most fun music videos of the year. Definitely one of my favorites of theirs in general, as well as of the whole year. Enjoy it below.

Despite the appearance of it being randomly thrown together and seeing what sticks, I went through a lot of tracks for my Xmas Mix 2012 . The Walkmen recently announced a ten-date tour of North America with Father John Misty , including a gig at The Fillmore here in San Francisco. The Washington, D.C.-native quintet kicks things off with a January 11th show in Philly, where some band members now live, before Father John (the current solo moniker of Joshua Tillman) joins them in Montreal a few days later. Last night on Conan , the Walkmen served as musical guests, playing "Love Is Luck," one of the many highlights from their excellent early-summer album Heaven . And as an online bonus, they also trotted out another Heaven song, " We Can't Be Beat ." They sounded great, but that's not much of a surprise; sounding great is just sort of what this band does. Not together, but those have been the musical guests with Jason Bentley on the venerable MBE in Santa Monica this Monday and Tuesday, respectively. And to think that the xx is scheduled to be on the show tomorrow. Mind=BLOWN The performances between the two are on different ends of the spectrum. The Walkmen appeared to have been stripped down to the bone, whereas, Hot Chip's beats seemed amplified by the live performance. Last night The Walkmen went on The Late Show With David Letterman to perform their latest single, "Heartbreaker" from Heaven , which was released back in May. The band is currently prepping for an upcoming tour next month in the US and will have The War On Drugs joining them for select dates. The Walkmen are fresh off of playing some of their larger shows to date opening up for Florence + the Machine. The guys are still out pushing their seventh LP, "Heaven." It's hard to believe that the guys have been going strong for well over a decade and show no signs of slowing down. I can definitely appreciate their new LP output at every two years on average. I can't think of any good reasons why the Walkmen aren't on TV every week, but when they do show up, I'll take it. Last night, they were on the Late Show With David Letterman , getting all elegantly wry on their great single " Heartbreaker ." And, surprise surprise, they were great.
