Usually videos of a band on tour are kinda boring and once you've seen one you've seen them all, but this one for The Walkmen 's track "Heaven" is a bit different. You see, not only is it a video of them on tour, but it's comprised of pictures of themselves as kids all the way through to the present day, all whilst either on tour or playing live, or doing other band-related activities like posing for pictures and driving around. "Heaven" is taken from The Walkmen [...]
The Walkmen debuted their new video for 'Heaven' today on Pitchfork. The video was directed by Alex Southam, and it shows a montage of Walkmen photos and video from the bands concerts and family photos. You could almost say that they were giving you an up close and personal look at the band.

The Walkmen nos presenta el video de "Heaven" el último sencillo de la banda y el track que le da nombre a su más reciente producción. El video está lleno de fotos de la banda, de cuando empezaban por ahí del 2000, y de la última gira. Enjoy.

The Walkmen take you on a trip down memory lane with this set of visuals for the absolutely stunning title-track off their recently released, seventh studio album, Heaven . It has quickly become one of my favorite songs of the year thus far, and this video only intensifies my appreciation for the record. Hats off to Alex Southam for the directorial efforts and Pitchfork.tv for the premiere.
The Walkmen's masterful new album Heaven is finally out, and the brand-new video for the title track uses photo collages and archival footage to show the band's evolution over the years. It turns out they weren't always quite as suave as they are now. In the video, we see old photos of the band members clutching instruments as kids and, I'm pretty sure, a quick glimpse of the lamented pre-Walkmen band Jonathan Fire*Eater. Alex Southam directs.

Fat Possum Records is pleased to release "We Can't Be Beat," the lead track from The Walkmen 's upcoming album Heaven , on May 29th. The record is the band's sixth and was produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Shins, Band of Horses) in Seattle. The Walkmen just celebrated their 10th anniversary and are still comprised of the same members that started the group in 2001 - drummer Matt Barrick , multi-instrumentalist Pete Bauer , singer Hamilton Leithauser , guitarist [...]
A|M|O Video Credits: Phitwoym on

Last week, the Walkmen announced the details of their new album Heaven , which I'm pretty much frothing at the mouth to hear right now. The band recently appeared on the Pitchfork.tv show "+1," which intersperses interviews with live footage, and it gives us a chance to hear them play the new album's title track at Philadelphia's Union Transfer. The song itself starts around 3:50, and it sounds really good. Watch it below. Read More...

The Walkmen have announced the follow up to "Lisbon" and a slew of live dates. Out June 5th on Fat Possum.
Earlier this month, great New York indie wailers the Walkmen posted a goofy medley of U2 covers , which they'd apparently recorded in a delirious burst of energy to celebrate the fact that they were done recording their new album. Then, literally minutes after we were done putting together our Most Anticipated Albums list , the band announced its plans to release new LP Heaven , the follow-up to 20102s excellent Lisbon . On Saturday night, Bob Weir, the Grateful Dead legend, played a show at his own TRI Studios in San Rafael, California. At the show, he was backed by a one-off band called the Bridge Session. As Rolling Stone reports , that group included the National's Aaron Dessner and Bryan and Scott Devondorf, as well as Doveman and members of the Walkmen, Takka Takka, and the Yellowbirds. About 100 people crammed into the tiny room, and the band played a bunch of Dead classics, as well as covers of Bob Dylan and, of all people, Cass McCombs. [...]

The annual Sasquatch festival, definitely a festival that I need to attend in the very near future, announced a killer line up for this year's installment. Recently solo Jack White, along with Beck and Bon Iver, will be headlining the George, WA based three-day event. Also leading the way are Pretty Lights, Tenacious D, The Shins, Girl Talk, St. Vincent, Feist, and Silversun Pickups. But that's not all who you'll get to see at the Gorge Ampitheatre this year. Also performing this year are Metric, Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, The Head [...]
