Danish duo War are set to release their debut single, "At War for Youth" soon on the 21st of February via Sacred Bones and now Stereogum has discovered or should I say stumbled across a 7" the band have put out. War have put out the split 7" with Swedish band Lust For Youth it's due for release in March but you can listen to War's contribution titled "Somme, Maggio" below.

As previously reported, Denmark punk duo War (Iceage frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfelt and Sexdrome singer Loke Rahbek) will release their debut single , "At War for Youth" , on February 21st via Sacred Bones. Now, as Stereogum points out, word has come that the band will also put out a split 7" with Swedish synth-wave band Lust For Youth. Due in March from AVANT!, the single will feature the War track entitled "Somme, Maggio". A dense mass of electronic looping, it's available for streaming below.

Elias Bender Rønnenfelt, frontman for jittery Danish punks Iceage, has a new side project called War, who could not possibly sound less like the Latin funk band with the same name. Instead, this War is a duo with Sexdrome's Loke Rahbek, and they specialize in murky, diffuse, dark tracks that use loops and electronics. Copenhagen, Denmark may be known for The Little Mermaid and greening efforts , but it also boasts one of Europe's richest punk scenes. It's from this City of Spires that last year's breakout band of young hooligans Iceage was birthed, and now frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfelt is bringing us his newest side-project.
