What's drugs my dealer? Well according to Nashville emcee Tino Buggs, it's anything, that when consumed produces a mind altering state. According to that definition I'd have to say this visual does just that. I'm buggin out on the fact that I've watched this creepy ass shit three or four times in a row and Tino has either spent time in a straight jacket or the kid can really act cause he makes the entire thing believable. I think I may be developing a slight dependency to ∆ A®T. R£VØLUTIØN. MVMT ∆ [...]

The band The War On Drugs formed the same way many great bands start: two guys with shared musical influences met, had a few drinks together, and decided to sit down and write some music. In this case, the primary songwriter, Adam Granduciel found his creative muse by collaborating with Philly-guitarist and fellow Bob Dylan-fan Kurt Vile. As Granduciel explained in an interview with Slug Magazine : "Playing on each other's songs and having someone to bounce ideas off of is a beautiful thing in music. I don't think either of us would have made the records [...]

Lost (at least for a second) in all the recent clamor about whether that "Video Games" girl is the genuine item was the fact that Sharon Van Etten's new album is on the horizon. "Tramp" is out next week (on Jagjaguwar ), and the New York songstress's third album finds her both tying her demons into knots and exposing the frayed edges the rope she's used to do so. Whether meting out plaintive ballads or spitting out aggressive rockers, Van Etten's woozy vocals belie the gravity and forthrightness of her confessionals. Just gorgeous. [...]
Tweet vaso link From 20112s incredibly well-received Slave Ambient, here is the video for The War on Drugs' "Brothers." It's surprising, given the tune, and quite suspenseful.
Here's the big "duh" comment of the month: I purchased almost no new-to-me albums this month, but for the two that I did, I feel much more connected to them than a lot of other recent acquisitions—as evidenced by the handful of blog posts I did around each. Even when I got hungry for something new, I just wound up going back to one of these or even older albums. (I like both of these records, though I feel like I'll be returning to Slave Ambient a lot more in the future.) The War on Drugs: [...]

Imagine my dismay, dear readers, when I did a search on this very site and noticed that we appear to not yet be on that War On Drugs hype. Although I grant it possible we got to 'em on the old site, but my paygrade doesn't finance that level of research... Anyways, War On Drugs, got together in 2005 in Philly, their latest album Slave Ambient is one of my favorite albums of last year, and the last several even. (Although I'll be the first to admit I'm a little behind the [...]
Take a look at the new video for Brothers , a song from the War on Drugs' excellent album Slave Ambient .
I'm a simple man. I prefer those videos with a storyline over the abstract or somewhat confusing. Case in point, this new video from The War On Drugs for their track "Brothers". If you compare it to something like Cloud Nothings "No Future No Past" video I don't know how you could prefer a floating man over the western themed "Brothers" (no offense to the actual Cloud Nothings track, which was awesome). Opinion aside, "Brothers" is definitely shot beautifully. I'm glad it came along - I have criminally neglected Slave Ambient the past few months. Time to [...]
From War In Drugs ' Slave Ambient album, this is the video for Brothers . The War on Drugs - Brothers from Secretly Jag on Vimeo .
The War On Drugs just released an incredible new video for "Brothers" off of their latest effort, Slave Ambient . I have to admit I was a bit of a late bloomer on coming around to The War On Drugs, but now there is no looking back. The War on Drugs - Brothers from Secretly Jag on Vimeo .

Creepy video from one of the top bands I want to see live this year...
My 3rd favourite song from my 2nd favourite album of last year . Here's "Brothers" by The War On Drugs , from the album Slave Ambient . The War on Drugs - Brothers from Secretly Jag on Vimeo .

The War on Drugs have let loose the official visuals for their track "Brothers" which features on the great sounding second record, Slave Ambient . The video sees an old timer cowboy going a little crazy firing his gun left right and centre. Talking to Vulture the team behind the video explained how it came to be and a little of the inspiration: "We kept picturing it as the soundtrack to a dark Western, like Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid or Unforgiven, That is where the deranged TV cowboy character [...]
We first wrote about The War On Drugs all the way back in January of 2009, when we introduced you to the Philadelphia-based act's blend of Dylan-influenced Americana meets the drone of Velvet Underground-infused lo-fi psych-rock via our ongoing Blips feature . Last year the band released their critically acclaimed sophomore effect Slave Ambient , which landed at number five on our Top 25 list. Earlier this week the band dropped this unbelievably intense music video for the track Brothers, which is equally parts creepy as it is cinematically [...]
