With Washed Out's 2011 debut album, Within and Without, proving a resolute success we are always eager to more from Ernest Greene and his band of synths, bleeps and dreamy soundscapes. Which all works out perfectly as his new cut, which comes courtesy of a Phillips advertising campaign called 'Sound of Creation', is exactly that. A Dedication is the new Washed Out video taken from the Within and Without album

If there's one tried and true rule of making a popular music video, it's this: prominently feature an adorable animal, then sit back and watch people fawn. Ernest Greene (aka Washed Out ) must have taken this into consideration with his video for “A Dedication,” which features a kitten lounging around a sleepy lakeside cabin. Although the track is a year old, this video gives me goosebumps. With soft silhouettes and a sad, almost aching piano riff, WASHED OUT ’s   new clip for ‘A Dedication’ really makes you feel something. At 1:20 when that synth comes in like a heartbeat. The flickering images of love and loss and wonder. That snare that appears at exactly the right moment. There is a definite story underneath the surface of this song. Plus d'un an après la sortie de son album Within And Without , Washed Out revient avec une nouvelle vidéo pour le morceau A Dedication . Elle a été par Yoonha Park qui a fait un excellent travail puisque la musique et l'image se marient parfaitement et nous emmène dans un autre univers. Parfait.

It's been months since we've heard anything from chillwave musician Ernest Greene, aka Washed Out , whose studio debut Within and Without was a highlight from last year's summer roster. Fitting then, that the visuals for "A Dedication" sees a woman waking from slumber. The video sees Greene and the woman indulging in the natural beauty of summertime and the mysterious, fantastical aspects that comes along with it. Watch the replay above.

We have always been huge Washed Out listeners. This video for his track "A Dedication" almost comes as a ( good ) surprise. It's directed by Yoonha Park who previously worked on M832s clip for "Kim & Jessie". The song is taken from his 2011 great album, "Within And Without".
