![GET YOUR AFRO-FUNK FIX WITH WATERSTRIDER [STREAM]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4463748_lg.jpg)
San Francisco has always been a hotbed of new music, notably from bands that lean more toward psychedelia, and Waterstrider (@waterstrider) is primed to join these Bay Area heavy-hitters, bringing their unique sound that toes the line between tUnE-yArDs' afro-beat flavors and the muted psychedelia found in Hot Chip . Their latest release, Wind-Fed Fire, though only a cozy thirteen minutes long and just three tracks, shows significant growth from their 2011 debut Constellation. The opener “Water & Stone” is both ethereal and danceable, with wonderfully [...]

Remember back when, I did an extremely flattering post about these guys ? Remember how my only gripe was that the Constellation EP ended? Well, now there is new stuff to enjoy from Waterstrider! When I first featured Waterstrider, they quickly became one of my favorites on the blog, thanks to their unique sound and style. That same relaxing and intricate sound heard on the Costellation EP is back on their latest, Wind-Fed Fire. Only three tracks long, but still full of the wonder that made me fall in love with Constellation. The saxophone they've included this time around [...]

Berkeley indie-pop/rock sextet Waterstrider have released a live video a new unnamed song being performed at UC Berkeley's Cloyne Court co-op, where the group met and formed. The video begins with just two of the members walking down a hallway performing, and throughout the song, the rest of the members jump in one-by-one, climaxing at the end in beautiful acoustic harmony. Waterstrider will be headlining Bottom of the Hill on March 17th, with support from DRMS and The Buttercream [...]

If you're anything like me, you know how difficult it can be to keep track of all of the new music that's constantly floating around the Internet. Here's our latest month-in-review mix collecting some our favorite new (or new to us) songs recently posted on the website. Gathered in the mix are fourteen new tracks from Bay Area bands that were posted on TheBayBridged.com in October, with links below to download each of them individually. Welcome to another edition of Monday Threesome , where this week we'll primarily be focusing on artists with beat-driven songs. Each of these musicians use rhythm s as the root component of their music, whether that means sunny afro-pop guitars and beats or bouncy percussion behind a sad country song. Enjoy! Featuring clean yet complex guitar lines and rubbery walking bass parts this, Waterstrider's (@waterstrider_) music is the perfect indie-pop band for those who love African guitar music or Paul Simon’s [...]

Nate Salman, Alex Siegel, and Clayton Ernst started playing music together in the fall of 2010 while living in a cooperative- living community in Berkeley, California. They found their music -and lineup- to be an ever evolving process until finally stumbling upon the essential talents of Sean Suess, Brijean Murphy, and Walker Johnson. Falsetto vocals and layered rhythmic melodies abound. Download Constellation Free Music, Every Day. Subscribe [...]

Constellation by Waterstrider Six-piece Waterstrider are a young band that began in a UC Berkeley co-op last year. Constellation is available for purchase above - where you can also grab the title track for free - and its swooning indie pop sounds a lot more thoughtful and mature than most self-released debut efforts. Waterstrider opens for Gardens & Villa and Young Man at Bottom of the Hill on Thursday night (9pm, $10). That's a compelling bill, and we've got a pair [...]
