Tony's vocals are perfectly fine and his songs follow the logic of his moniker but it didn't blow me away with excitement. I enjoyed his version of a cover of the old song 'Sixteen Tons' written by Merle Travis in the [...]

Part 1 of Sunday's Meteor Camden Crawl, Dublin 2013 After a mellow night on Saturday hanging around The Unitarian Church we got into the full spirit of the Meteor Camden Crawl on Sunday visiting numerous venues and seeing as many bands as we could kicking off with the incredible sounds of Overhead, The Albatross in the Workman's Club. For me one of the best things about the Crawl was that in one weekend I got to see well promoted and [...]
Day 2 of the Meteor Camden Crawl featuring the photogenic Croupier, Overheard The Albatross, Peter Delaney, Slow Skies, The Pictish Trail, O Emperor, Concrete Knives, We Were Evergreen and finally We Cut Corners all over Dublin last night. Damn, these have been rocking my iTunes for months now but laziness/selfishness has kept them from being wrapped and gifted for your ears. No time to talk. Get down to the rock.

we were evergreen - leeway filling me with pure joy ever since my friend alice tipped me on the band a few weeks back, this UK based parisian trio offer up retro infused pop that remind me of one of my favorite bands of all time; fairground attraction. innocent and sentimental with sweet harmonies that just bring a smile to your face, these guys are definitely on my radar for bands to watch for 2013! http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld

So I've been on a little bit of a European indie kick lately ( 1 2 3 4 ), and it continues on today. I present to you: Leeway by We Were Evergreen . Leeway opens with a rhythmic "ba-dum" that is quickly joined by a bass line, drums, a shaker, and vocals to create a perfect harmony of loops with gliding vocals over the top. This song has the rare ability to instantly produce a feeling when listening to it. Though, rather than just a feeling, [...]
Boy/Girl duo WEKEED, and Parisian up-start Michael Creange, combine to remix French trio We Were Evergreen and their new single 'Baby Blue' which is out February 25. While we've probably had our fill of heavily compressed gritty electro, there's something about this remix that screams quality, especially impressive is the way they handle the vocal. It probably wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it sounds a bit like the electro Yuksek used to make so successfully a few years ago. www.facebook.com/wewereevergre en [...]
Hey. andnbsp;Yeah. andnbsp;Back once again with the best electronic music the internet has to offer, itandrsquo;s Uncle Flex and Glitch. Weandrsquo;ve searched around the internet for essential EDM tunes that

It's Monday and it's early, so I'll spare the everyone the "good morning" bit. I will say, however, that I played a serious game of catch up yesterday after being on vacation all last week, and have a ridiculous amount of music for you. Starting at about 10AM PST I'll be publishing a new post every half an hour, all day long. So you'll definitely want to stay tuned! Here are some remixes to tide you over. Here's to a great (GRAMMY) week ahead! [...]
French trio We Were Evergreen have just released their new music video for their latest single 'Leeway'. Originating from Paris and formed in 2008, Michael Liot, Fabienne Debarre and William Serfass showcase a fusion of English folk, disco beats, electronic-pop, and the storytelling traditions of their native France with their new single. You can check out the new video below:

There’s something about happy sounding music that makes many a music snob turn up their noses. It’s almost as if to be considered serious about art your brain has to have a jaundiced and cynical view of anything that could put joy in people’s hearts. A pessimist is never disappointed somebody once sang and maybe that’s at the core of it for the anti-cheerful brigade. The shield of negativity protects them from being let down and in an ironic way keeps them content, or dare we say it, happy. [...]

You may remember that back in August, I posted a video for the song " Choices ", which was the conclusion of To Kill a King's live video series, Ralph's Balcony . I stated that it had one of the best build-ups that I had ever heard. Last week, the band released the entire collection of the series to download as audio files on their Bandcamp page. Throughout the Ralph's Balcony series, To Kill a King would invite guests such as Bastille, Youth Imperial, Professor Penguin, and We Were Evergreen to play on lead singer, Ralph Pelleymounter's [...]

looking for my common sense, looking for it, oh, did i ever have it? Who: Michael, Fabienne, William What : Hyper-twee, like Walk The Moon , San Cisco , Set Sail . Where : Paris, France + Facebook When : The "Baby Blue" single is out with "Second Hand" as B-side. Why : "Baby Blue" kicks down the door of your speakers and bursts through but not before [...]
If you're an avid fan of new music like us here at TGTF Towers, you'll surely be aware of the constant problem we face: there's just too much of it. Scenes are evolving into separate sub sects that inspires another bedroom artist, then someone throws a synth in to make it 'electro' or someone starts screaming to make it 'core', and before you know it that band you liked last week are no longer new. It's no easy task to keep up with the ever-moving entity that is new music, but the Guardian's Paul Lester has been making it his [...]

For those of you sitting around complaining that gosh darn it there just aren't enough ukuleles, kazoos and toy pianos in music lately, your prayers have been answered. Let us point you to We Were Evergreen , a French trio -- or twee -some -- that make whimsical, giddily upbeat pop so sunny that we're guessing their faces might ache from so much damn smiling. But despite the fact that astute observers like Paul Lester of The Guardian describe their music as "maddeningly pleasant and obscenely [...]
Music is so deeply hewn in to the tapestry of Camden’s past that even if a rogue bulldozer were to somehow escape the Olympic park and flatten the lot, the Camden faithful would still gather on the detritus (like Kevin Costner in the film Field of Dreams) to watch the ghostly echo of gigs passed. Camden Crawl has managed to do away with wrestling the country/city festival debate that plagues the likes of Hard Rock Calling and SW4 – those who assume the hardware set up should remain universal – by setting up in the across the attics, backrooms [...]

The cold wet streets of Camden are awash with drunken hordes tonight, but that’s just a typical weekend here. Thrown into that mix is a bunch of wristband wearing music seekers who are staggering their way between the pubs, clubs and venues of north London’s pleasure streets. Yes, you know it can only be the Camden Crawl . The legendary multi-venue multi-gig festival may be the oldest swinger in town these days, imitated by many others that have arguably [...]

The Great Escape Website It's now just a fortnight until The Great Escape , I'm already excited, I said in my review last year that 2011 was the best yet (I've been to four) and 2012 has the potential to be even better with more venues, more lunch time shows and more bands than ever before, over 30 venues with over 300 bands crammed into three days in the wonderful city of Brighton. Sounds fun right? It is. Running from Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th of May there are so many [...]
