There are so many regular features about what sick tattoos bands have got and what awesome trainers they're wearing, but what about their haircare regime? How do they get their hair looking so cool? HOW? You were thinking it, so we asked it. What shampoo do you use, Loz Taylor of While She Sleeps? Loz: "I don't do anything with it. I wash it with what I've got and I let it dry naturally. One day when I might have some money I'll [...]
Well, since Christmas and the New Year are now well and truly out of the way, we figured now was the perfect time to throw the next episode of the Thrash Hits podcast out there for you to digest. This week, Raz and Hugh are talking about the various ins and outs of certain legal cases (Ian Watkins of Lostprophets, Harley Flanagan - formerly - of Cro Mags, and, of course, Randy Blythe of Lamb of God) that have been going on while we were on our Christmas break, as well a a discussion on the nature of making tips [...]

Well, it's all been leading to this. The votes are in, the results have been tabulated, calculated, and any other kind of mathematically something-lated you can think of. This is the Thrash Hits Top 20 Albums of 2012. And just how did we work this out? We took everyone's individual lists, and gave each album a score from 1 to 20 depending on how high it fell in the list. We then added up all the points, and voila - the collective list was born. In the case of a [...]

So we've already published part 1 , part 2 AND Dep Ed, Hugh Platt's Albums of the Year lists, so now it's time for the next stage of #RaziqRaufsReignOfTerror. Here's the eclectic and ridiculous list of Raziq Rauf. While he's happiest writing an introduction about himself in the Third Person, he, like Hugh, stuck to the rules. Pretty much. All 20 albums are from 2012 and there aren't any Best Ofs. There aren't even any EPs actually. He's just not that DIY. He's explained his Top 10 because he [...]
It could have been much, much worse.
The sandwich is possibly the greatest food-based invention. We need to be able to eat and post on Facebook at the same time. Sandwiches allow us to do this. The best thing about sandwiches, however, is that anybody can eat them. Vegetarian? Put some more salad in. Belly doesn't like wheat? Use some gluten-free bread then! And everybody has a favourite sandwich. Even bands... Hello there, Mat Welsh of While She Sleeps. What's in your favourite sandwich. Bread: Tiger bread. Filling: Halloumi. Mushrooms. Mozzarella. [...]
What started as a ska/punk club night in Leeds in 2007 has grown exponentially over the years into a staple part of the festival calendar. Held each year over the May Bank Holiday, Slam Dunk takes over Leeds and Hertfordshire universities on consecutive days to thousands of fans of hardcore, pop-rock, punk and metal. Eight stages of acts from across the world grace Hatfield on this sun-soaked Sunday to an army of baying fans who are queuing for hours in the dizzying heat to get to the front from the start. In [...]
Everyone is naming While She Sleeps as one of the bands to watch over the next twelve months. Having seen their tent-climbing, mosh-war set at Download Festival 2012, we're inclined to agree. -- [Show as slideshow] [...]
Yeah, the video to 'This Is The Six' has been on the internet for over a week already but it's just sinking in that While She Sleeps have got a big fat hit on their hands. Obviously we pegged this when we highlighted their freely downloadable EP , but the title track to their first album proper is super. It sounds better and better each time you listen to it. Check out all the Ohs and Woahs. Seriously. They're like the heavy metal Kaiser Chiefs. They're both from Yorkshire. Maybe it's [...]

There's a new record label around that is the brainchild of people involved in Sony Music and Raw Power Management, and the fact alone that the Iggy and the Stooges-referencing Search and Destroy has added hotly-tipped Bedford alt-rock quartet Don Broco [ Twitter / Facebook ] (who have long been favourites of mine) to its roster is cause for celebration, mainly because the forthcoming album now has a home, not to mention a release date of August 13th. It's as yet untitled, but the lead single will be released on May 20th, so we'll have news on that as [...]

If you get up very early in the morning, you'll have spotted that Download Festival 's head promoter, Andy Copping, announced another 22 bands for this year's festival via his Twitter account this morning. And as you'd expect from such a large announcement, it's a mix of old and new, big and small, and awesome and just plain awful. Arguably the bigger names in this announcement are some of those from the other side of the pond: Corey Taylor, Dropkick Murphys, Cancer Bats, and Fozzy. Perhaps most interesting of [...]
They've done it. They've survived. Tom Doyle and Ben Gibson have made it through to the other side of Hevy Festival 2011. Let's see what they got up to on the third and final day of the festival.... 1) A bleary eyed Sunday morning is kicked off (musically at least) by new Wold At Your [...]
Sean Long from While She Sleeps was not impressed by our knowledge of Dave Mustaine's haircare routine. He said it was the "crappest gossip he'd heard in his life". But then he started talking about wearing a fanny on his face, and everyone was friends again. While She Sleeps @ Sonisphere Festival 2011 setlist Proud [...]

Asking Alexandria are already one of the biggest British bands in America yet they're only just emerging in the UK. We popped down to Camden to catch some hype.
After the drooling adulation we threw at Sylosis' new album Edge Of The Earth, you might think the chances of us missing their headlining show in London were worse than the odds of a Nickelback cover band surviving a support slot on a Slayer tour. And you would be correct. Here's a bumper crop things [...]
This week's Slaylist is unique insofar that it's only going to be relevant for the next day and a half or so. Up-and-coming Sheffield hardcore mob, While She Sleeps, are giving away their superb mini-album, The North Stands For Nothing, for free, but you've only got until tomorrow evening to download it. Simply point your browser [...]
FEATURING MEMBERS OF DRAGONFORCE, A LIFE ONCE LOST, ALL SHALL PERISH, CANCER BATS, THE ACCUSED, AIRBOURNE, ABSU, WOE, WHILE SHE SLEEPS, DIAMOND PLATE, MALEFICE, AND MUTANT SUPREMACY For 2010, we decided to do something special as part of our regular end-of-year festivities here at MetalSucks — namely, ask musicians from across the vast spectrum of [...]
