08 I remember this floating around on the internet back when the internet wasn't quite what it is today in terms of streaming/shared media. I believe the version I have is still ripped straight from the film ( Om Gud Vill ), but I can't imagine it any other way after years of listening with the blip of dialogue at the beginning. Nina Persson 's version of "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" is pretty true to the original, but the soft, feminine vocals invoke a haunting vulnerability. The White Stripes ' original is [...]
Hear the latest to come from Jack's Third Man Records.

Last spring Mumford & Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros embarked on the Railroad Revival Tour , which saw the three bands traverse the country together via vintage train cars. The throwback tour, which got its inspiration from the famed 1970 Festival Express tour that transported the likes of the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and The Band across Canada, began in Oakland and ended in New Orleans, stopped in six cities along the cross-country route where the bands performed at unique outdoor venues. The entire [...]

Filed under: News , New Music Frederick Breedon, WireImage You can take the boy out of the White Stripes , but you can't, well, you know the rest. Last month, Jack White unveiled his debut solo single, ' Love Interruption ,' and while it was a lovely tune -- all sunny organ and whimsical clarinet -- the B-side, 'Machine Gun Silhouette,' packs a bit more firepower, proving ol' Jack hasn't forgotten how to rock. [...]
An eager Jack White fan has posted the b-side on the "Love Interruption" single release, which is out today on Third Man Records . Definitely prefer the more upbeat vibe to this song over the A-side, but both are solid nonetheless. As April 23rd crawls its way here for his upcoming debut solo album Blunderbuss we can only expect and hope that ol' Jackie to have some surprises tucked up his sleeves for us along the way. Make sure you head over to the Third Man Records store to grab [...]

Now that Jack White has finally ran out of other people to work with, the vinyl traditionalist is free to strip it all back and put out a project under his own name. But that doesn't mean he's reinventing himself. Lyrically, his debut solo single, "Love Interruption," exudes the same awkwardly macabre bitterness that White often turned to in both the White Stripes and the Dead Weather. "I want love to stick a knife inside me and twist it all around/ I want love to murder my own mother and take her off to somewhere like hell or up above," [...]

While the UK (and the rest of the world) eagerly awaits new music from Little Mix , winners of The X-Factor series 8, runner up Marcus Collins is already prepping for the release of his own debut single and album, both due this March via RCA Records . Collins, the openly gay (former) hairdresser from Liverpool, came in second during his season of the popular reality music competition. While Collins was never really one of my favs, the 23 year [...]

Scan "Self-Portrait with Sheila " by me Howdy kiddos! How the fuck are ya? Me? Well just dandy dandy, thank you for asking... As many of you know, I've been a busy boy over at tsurufoto , takin' lots of pictures, starting a nudie blog , and, of course, running the #1 nudiezine in the world ! I've taken quite a hiatus from "new music" for a few months and I [...]

Generically, Jack White exists in a universe with a population of one. Sure, he's a throwback, channeling Robert Plant and a whole generation of axe-slashers, but in today's cultural landscape, what really sets White apart from the rest is his bombast. More than just a blues influenced garage rocker, Jack White is a rock persona in the retro sense-almost so ungrounded in this world that he feels like a fictitious character. "Love Interruption" is so cool and so daring that it could only come from a personality like White. The mix is comprised of nothing but keyboard, guitar and, most [...]

Mr. White Stripes Jack White finally goes on his own with debut track from "solo" album Blunderbuss , available in April. "Love Interuption" offers the mellow side of "blues/garage-rock gate-keeper". Now he feels the time is right "I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas."
On the heels of Jack White's new album announcement as well as the unveiling of Blunderbuss 's first single " Love Interruption ," we thought it was time to revisit the hits - not the literal ones , unfortunately - of White's wide-reaching, strange and prolific career so far. So, here's 13 of Jack White's most memorable collaborations. Sorry Bobby D . For once, you didn't make the cut. 13. Insane Clown Posse and JEFF The Brotherhood w/ Jack White Definitely one of the higher-ranking moments in Jack White's "WTF?" register, White [...]
In case you didn't already know Jack White has released a single to go along with the announcement of his upcoming solo album Blunderbuss , which is set to release April 24 on Third Man Records. The song is composed in a pretty simple folk style with some light guitar, keys, and female backing vocals. This puts on emphasis on the lyrics and with good reason. White has always been an interesting songwriter and with this track he puts together a charmingly twisted love song. He uses clear imagery to invoke every pain and triumph that is [...]

A year ago today (and, believe me, this is still terribly hard to type), monumental Detroit garage rock duo the White Stripes officially decided to break apart. The raw, bluesy two piece cut the chord on February 2, 2011, ending the more than 10 years of life their only child had so voraciously acquired. In all honesty, this was to be expected; it would have been selfish to force the electric pair to continue, especially once Meg White 's increasingly acute anxiety attacks were factored into the entropic equation. It was clear that (although not mentioned [...]

In addition to his talents as both an emcee and producer, Black Milk is a commanding and accomplished stage performer whose explosive live shows are often cited among hip [...]

For a man with such a prolific recorded output, I'm a bit surprised we haven't seen a full length solo album from Jack White sooner, but Third Man Records announced yesterday that one will be coming our way in April with Blunderbuss . The first single off the album, "Love Interruption", which started making the rounds of the internet as well yesterday, will be released as a 73 on February 7th, and inlclude the B-side "Machine Gun Silhouette". Preorders for the "Love Interruption" single are available now from the label for $6 [...]

Jack White the very talented musician that we all love (pictured above looking a bit like Johnny Depp), has announced a solo album to be released under his own name. Naturally I'm salivating at the thought. Here's a little teaser.
