Thanks to Hollywood Q posting tUnE-yArDs album w h o k i l l, I've been listening to it non-stop since yesterday[ here ]. Just so you guys can recognize their brilliance check out a live performance during a stop at Belgian radio station, Studio Brussel . w h o k i l l in stores today!

It boggles the hell out of my mind that NPR has all the sudden pushed their weight behind Tune Yards . The first tried to catch her live at South By Southwest at The Parrish Underground. The line wrapped around the block, so I skipped out. I later found out that this was NPR's SXSW showcase. NPR? Have they listened to Tune Yards before, much less her latest whokill ? I once called tUnE-YaRdS "an art project gone very very right." That was, of course, back when the music of New Englander Merrill Garbus was recorded entirely on a Sony digital voice recorder. No longer just an art project, Garber has released her second full-length, w h o k i l l , an album recorded in a real studio and written with a wider audience in mind. I was never in love with tUnE-yArDs' debut , but this track is really growing on me-of course, the miraculously directed video here helps the process. Thanks to Mimi Cave for that! But on the sound side of things, Merrill Garbus is bringing the project in a clearer direction that finally compliments the numerous layers she builds here tunes with. Ma a quanto pare sembra che a Merril Garbus non importi un granché visto che nonostante sia fuori dalla geografia musicale che conta, sia riuscita a mettere su uno dei progetti musicali più interessanti degli ultimi anni. The close quarters, the heat, and the smell of nicotine lagermusk made for a forced and painful march through her indie wails and precocious arrangements. Merrill Garbus is an amazing artist. As I listened to W H O K I L L , I became more and more in awe of her singing talent and composition skills. And what is probably Garbus' most impressive characteristic is her innovativeness. This album sounds nothing like I have heard in my lifetime of listening to music. There are so many new sounds, so many interesting ways of creating melodies. W H O K I L L is simply a really impressive album and proves to me how much of a genius Merrill Garbus really is. [...]

mE lOvE tUnE-yArDs. "Bizness" was released by Merrill Garbus as the first single on the upcoming w h o k i l l only a few weeks ago. Yesterday, we got a glimpse at the video for that single, which is tons of fun, to say the least. With painted faces, and lots of singing and dancing, this video has catapulted "Bizness" to the top of my favorite songs list so far in 2011. Oh, and w h o k i l l isn't too shabby either, it hasn't left my rotation for the past week! The album [...]
