New Music: Why? – “Sod in the Seed” California indie rock band Why? have been working towards a new album for some time now, even embarking on a brief U.S. tour last summer to preview some of their new material (unfortunately, most of the dates were ultimately canceled after Yoni Wolf suffered a hand injury.) "This Blackest Purse" is a five minute long, piano driven, emotional song... Led by Yoni's self-reflective, witty lyrics. Like all WHY? songs, "This Blackest Purse" is extremely catchy, following a similar formula to "Eskimo Snow". I can safely assume that most of the new album will be piano based.
