Jack Tatum's Wild Nothing is back with the follow-up to his 2010 LP Gemini . His sophomore release is titled Nocturne and was recorded by Tatum while living in Savannah, Georgia. "Paradise" demonstrates just what we can expect from the new album. It's an atmospheric, synth-fluffed jam centered on a hazy, rainbow colored melody. Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak is releasing her second 7″ single as part of a series for her Flock of Dimes side project on Merge Records next month. "Curtain" is the single's a-side. Wasner described the lyrics as documenting "the thoughtless, obsessed joy of new love." The tune's heart and soul, however, is it's beautiful, reverb-soaked melody led by a Wurlitzer organ and warped, sparkling guitar glints. It's a slice of gorgeous, obscured pop. The much anticipated project featuring Dan Boeckner (ex-Handsome Furs, Wolf Parade), Spoon frontman Britt Daniel and New Bomb Turks drummer Sam Brown, finally debuts with A Thing Called Divine Fits , which our Music Director, Don Yates, calls "a rock-solid set of concise, sharply crafted pop-rock with a crisp, ‘80s-influenced sound driven by buzzing synths, lean guitar lines and propulsive rhythms, with Boeckner and Daniel alternating on lead vocals."
