Win Butler has it all a good woman at home a Grammy winning buzzband and the swag to stand on tables whenever the eff he wants 'All u rich bitches better listen up I'm Win Fucking Butler I can drain shots from anywhere on the court and I have a bitching post-up game There is simply no stopping me If I didn't play indie music I am confident that I would be contributing to a championship-caliber team in the NBA playing around 30 minutes per game [...]
Were you at The National 's show in Montreal on Friday? No, well, look at what you could have witnessed! Arcade Fire 's tall man, Win Butler, made a surprise appearance with the band in his very own home town. He helped The National bang out a very nice sounding performance of "Start A War" and lucky for you through the magic of the Internet and mobile phones/digital cameras we didn't have to be there. Watch it at the top and if you're in NY go witness The National live before they finish their tour. It'd be criminal [...]

It doesn't matter at what time of day you listen to the National's "Start a War," it's impossible not to be moved by the sheer beauty of the music. Sprinkle in some Win Butler and you have pure magic. That's what happened at in some hockey rink in Montreal this past Friday. My unabashed love for Katy Perry knows no bounds. Her "Teenage Dream" album has been charting in one form or single since it hit the scene, rivaling the late great, Michael Jackson. Robyn has been providing the musical support in most markets, and [...]

Who knows why, but The National figured this would be a good week to dominate the headlines. Following the debut of two new songs and an on-stage collaboration with Justin Vernon , the Brooklyn-based indie rock stalwarts were back at it on Friday night. Their seventh to last scheduled tour date, and the final one not in New York City, the band was in Win Butler's stomping grounds, aka Montreal, and brought out the Arcade Fire frontman during "Start A War". You can catch the live footage below. Arcade Fire's Richard [...]
Filed under: News Tim Mosenfelder, Getty Images By now the Hallmark holiday cards are probably starting to clog up your mailbox. And while it's always nice to hear from your far-out family members, it's even cooler to hear from one of the biggest bands of the year, Arcade Fire . Yup, that's right, the Montreal collective are sending out personalized "Happy Holidays" greetings in exchange for generous donations to their Haiti-development charity Kanpe. [...]

Win Butler is known as one of the most prolific oil heirs in indie rock. You might think he has everything. Money. Fame. Regine Chassagne . Indie buzz. Grammys. Junos. A 10 car garage. But sometimes, Win doesn't have it all. Sometimes the weight of the world rests right upon Win's shoulders. Regine starts blabbing, getting naggy, wondering why she still has to take out the trash while he's watching the NBA. His band bros wondering when he's gonna write another album. He is a breadwinner for a lot of [...]
Fanfarlo released one of the better records of 2009 in Reservoir , took basically all of 2010 to record a new record. Now the band is set to unleash their 1st track from it called "Replicate". It automatically appears less easily digestable than just about anything this band has every recorded. Simon Balthazar actually sounds eerily similiar to Win Butler in this. Ben H. Allen (known famously for his work on Animal Collective's Merriweater Post Pavillion ) makes his mark cleary here, going for a defintive more experimental sound. Fanfarlo - "Replicate"

I started my Saturday checking out Pop Montreal 's Puces Pop and later went to Pop vs Jock. Here is a info about Pop vs Jocks. POP vs JOCK was Pop Montreal's charity basketball game organized by Win Butler of Arcade Fire and Dexter John of DJ Sports Club . Team Pop, was made up of Arcade Fire's Win and Will Butler, Chris Tomson of Vampire Weekend, Miracle Fortress and current and former NBA players Matt Bonner and Paul Shirley, while Team Jock was stacked with members of the McGill Redman and Concordia [...]
Last week, we posted video of Arcade Fire's Win Butler playing (pretty impressively, from the look of things) in a Toronto charity basketball tournament, sharing the court with a few actual pros. His bandmate and brother Will also played, and photographer Susan Moss of Montreal Buzz was there to document it. Check out her photos above.
Arcade Fire co-leader Win Butler has never been shy about making basketball references from the stage. And who could forget the 2007 saga surrounding "Arcade Fire Stole My Basketball" ? Rumors have long circulated that Butler's a beast on the court himself. Now, we have evidence that those rumors are true. Win recently played in a Toronto charity tournament, sharing the court with a few actual professional players, and came out looking pretty good! In the video below, we learn that he beat active San Antonio Spurs forward Matt Bonner in a three-point contest, and his quick little [...]

Link: http://blogs.thescore.com/tbj/ 2011/09/21/tbj-rock-the-court- win-butler-vs-matt-bonner/ Win Butler is rumored to be the greatest basketball player in indie. His size and aggression make him tough to handle in any pickup game. However, is he so invincible against premium NBA players like Matt Bonner ? He has been seen bronoodling with the Arcade Fire before [ link ]. Anyways, they participated in some sort of 'charity basketball game', but eventually just turned into ball hogs, didn't pass to their teammates, then acted like it was a 1-on-1 [...]

Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler 's participation in the second annual Rock the Court charity basketball game ended in epic fashion: with the 6'43 Butler going head-to-head with the 6'103 San Antonio Spurs forward Matt Bonner. The resulting carnage from these two titans, available below, shook the court and saw mad dunkage on a puny female human. Boom shakalaka!

Every one in Canada thinks that the Arcade Fire is the greatest export that their country has ever produced, and they will do anything to 'hype' and 'reward' their golden goose, which is why they gave them the Polaris Prize. The prize is a Canadian gimmick that the country has to 'celebrate its arts/artists' and reward them with money, especially because 'indie' used to be a poor people sport, but now the Arcade Fire are rich, but also 'hella mainstream.' Now the country has a 'national crisis'-- do we give the [...]
Gospel singer Mavis Staples played this past weekend's Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco. During her set Staples performed her track, " The Weight ", joined by Arcade Fire 's Win Butler . Watch both performances below. [via COS and Pitchfork]
Amazing news: Arcade Fire leader and noted hoopster Win Butler will show off his crossover at an upcoming four-on-four basketball tournament. As Exclaim! reports Butler and City & Colour frontman Dallas Green have both agreed to participate in the second annual Rock the Court. Set to take place September 10tha the University of Toronto, the tournament benefits the charities Athletes for Africa and the St. Alban's Boys & Girls Club. And it gets even better. The event is not only open to the public, but team registration is [...]

Filed under: News , Awards Tim Mosenfelder, Getty Images We knew Arcade Fire would make it all the way to the Polaris Prize Gala. After winning the top awards at the Grammys , it was doubtful the Montreal rockers would be shut out from the short list for this critic-voted competition in their homeland. But what we didn't know was if Win Butler and crew would be taking the [...]
