I'm immensely proud of the work I've done with CIUT through DCS905. I keep thinking of how to possibly formulate a list of all the people who've helped create and shape this project throughout it's course, and I always get...

Muphoric Sounds had yet another an awesome year. Click on the artist's name, to see what you may have missed this year. At the start of 2010 we debuted with our first video interview with Brooklyn's ghetto metal group, Game Rebellion -we were able to catch them at their EP release party for Sounds Like a Riot at Santos Party House and then again at Le Poisson Rouge to film the interview. We got to chat [...]

Felt like I needed to 'wrap up' this year somehow. Went through some changes, changed the layout a bunch, changed states, too. Changed from books / music to music only while I started doing books over here . Said I would read Faulkner and stopped in June. Felt like I broadened the blog's horizon this year, while also trimming it back. I'll let you figure that out. Not sure if there was much 'momentum' gained, not sure what that momentum would like if it was gained. [...]
Hopscotch Music Festival 2010 Wrap Up Do you ever get the feeling that some things were just made to be? Perhaps you have found your perfect match. Or maybe your extreme love for an instrument, a sport, a subject — was it planned for reasons greater than your momentary happiness? I know it’s not typically okay to put your beliefs in greater beings in a public space, but I am going to break all political rules and tell it how [...]

Yesterday we showed you some videos from the Black Scale X Freeway event at Ubiq, today we have some pics of the event courtesy of Chris and Jahmil. [...]

Its been over a week and we still haven’t recovered from the Electric Zoo music festival. For the first electronic music festival in New York City, we would say it was a success. With a great selection of music from DJs in house and dance, it proved to be more than a festival, but also an event and a gathering harnessing a dance and music culture along with its taste-makers from different parts of the world - including New York's own Danny Tenaglia and Roger Sanchez . With four stages, there wasn’t a moment where [...]

Well, it was unquestionably a long weekend, and it took us the better part of a week to get the coverage out, but yesterday we finished and it was all worth it! We just wanted to take this opportunity to throw all of our Outside Lands coverage at you in one fell swoop, and offer up some final thoughts. Specifically, how impressed we were that the festival not only worked again this year, but that it even worked even better. Not only because the weather held up (okay, more than [...]

Here is the wrap of last week's 'Celebrate Larger Life' Trunk Show that featured our friends at Okay Alrite. Of course Chris from Okay Alrite , Vanache , Craig from Commonweath Prope r, Seun from Duke And Winston , One from Made To Order , and my fam and friends for coming out including Joe, [...]

Well kids, we won't lie to you: it was a long, long, week; but it was also fantastic. The sheer breadth and quality of this year's Noise Pop was a force to be reckoned with, and we couldn't be happier we were there for it. In case you missed some of our coverage over the past few days, we figured we'd provide links to all of our coverage right here. That way you can go back, reminisce over photos, and get down to resting up for next year! [...]

If you were slightly disappointed in last year's annual " Wrap Up ," take comfort in knowing that Skillz was frying even bigger fish for the 2K9. The Wire . 5 Seasons in 5 minutes. He makes it look all too easy. Maybe there should be a ***spoiler alert*** attached to this but if you're not up on The Wire by now, you're behind in LIFE. Period. Here's the audio as well. Skillz - The Wire Wrap Up [...]
Last year at this time, I provided a year-end wrap up which included a breakdown of the statistics for playbsides.com. I'm fairly certain that I'm the only one who really is interested in this information, but still I want to capture it for posterity, if nothing else. February 21st will be the third year for playbsides.com which is a feat in of itself I think. Most of the "big" music blogs have been around for this long or longer, so that is pretty cool. I'm not sure how many people are regular readers- I have a [...]
