Kid Cudi  has kept us waiting a long time for his next project,  Indicud,  and we are getting closer to the April 23rd release date. It just so happens that a few days ago he gave us a new single, "Immortal". In this tune Cudi took the MGMT  song "Congratulations", reversed it, sped it up, and then produced the rest of the beats over top of it. This single happens to be more of a  WZRD  sound, or even bares a resemblance to "Ghost!" on MOTM II,  than what we heard on  MOTM.  No need to worry though as it seems [...]

The movie Drive made Desire’s Under Your Spell an instant classic and on February of last year Kid Cudi revealed his project WZRD (an alias he uses for the rock project where he partners up with Dot Da Genius). Drive’s soundtrack has the ability to transport (or teleport me, for that matter) to another time (even though it’s a relatively new movie only a couple years old. I made the mistake of watching this far too late at night, and I'm currently tripping balls after a full viewing of the video below. With a couple of new songs and a new album Indicud on the way, the timing seems kind of odd for the visuals for "Teleport 2 Me" from Cudi and Dot Da Genius' WZRD project to finally drop. And yet here we are. To be quite honest this song was by far one of the highlights of the album, so seeing it finally put to visuals is satisfying in its own right. Visually, the video is a mindf**k; so I won't bother to explain it. Musically, the track samples the synthpop track "Under Your Spell" by Canadian band, Desire and many will recognize the sample from Ryan Gosling's heist film, Drive (where he beats the living shiznit out of some guy with the heel of his boot). What makes this track a great listen is Cudi's sing-rap (yes, you read correctly) that uniquely fits the acoustics of this track. See for yourself and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Its been a little over a year since these 2 dropped their collaborative effort under the WZRD title. Today they've decided to liberate a new video for the track "Teleport 2 Me, Jamie". How does the video play out you ask? Well lets see, forests growing in the hall way of an apartment building, pulsating lights in a bed mattress, Cudi playing a guitar shirtless in space. You know, the usual stuff.

Better late than never.

Let's face it, Kid Cudi 's WZRD was damn near terrible. It was a concept album and an attempt at moving in a different creative direction, but in the end it fell well short of the standard Cudi set with earlier releases. Cudi hopped on his favorite means of communication earlier today to reveal new information on his upcoming LP Indicud.  Cudder stated that he is currently filming a movie, and that when he is wrapped with his film duties he plans on going on tour (seemingly this fall). He also stated the features on his dubbed "A Kid Named Cudi on DMT" LP, those being Kanye, Pusha T, Jaden Smith, Kendrick Lamar, Chip Tha Ripper, and Cage. WZRD 's "Teleport 2 Me" , which samples Desire's Drive soundtrack jam "Under Your Spell", is getting what appears to be quite a cinematic video. Directing duo Walter Robot explain the making of the visual in a special behind-the-scenes clip: "It's about when [ Kid Cudi ] was on tour traveling and he just really missed his girlfriend, and he would talk to her and wished she could just teleport to him wherever he was." After a largely misguided attempt at rock stardom , Kid Cudi releases a new song that we hope marks his return to pure rapping. "Dennis, Hook Me Up With Some More Of That Whiskey!" (rolls right off the tongue, doesn't it?) is produced by Mescudi himself, showing off a level of sophistication behind the knobs we hadn't seen before.
