I must say, ScHoolboy Q and XV hooking up wasn't anything that I ever expected. The two rap from almost completely different worlds. That might be why Q sounds like he toned down his rebellion a little here. Don't let me obsession for him mislead you, XV did his thing on this one. 1. "Aaahh! Real Monsters" - XV feat. ScHoolboy Q & B.o.B. XV released his 17th official mixtape this week, and the Kansas rapper just continues to get better. He enlists the help of Schoolboy Q and Bobby Ray for this track, which is the best from the tape. It's a unique theme and a very unique sound and fool, and the three of them handle it really well. This track, like most of the songs from the tape, was produced by The Awesome Sound, and the sound here sure is awesome. Creativity and imagination lift this song to the top [...]

XV has been one of the most underrated rappers for a while now since his emergence a couple years back, slipping under the radar and not being noticed by many as one of the more solid new actual rappers to continue creating. Being from Kansas doesn't help either. Yet, today we get a great mixtape titled Popular Culture in which V discusses many experiences in this industry over the years with features from Schoolboy Q, B.O.B, Emilo Rojas & more.
From his forthcoming Popular Culture mixtape, XV enlisted the help of emerging rapper ScHoolboy Q for "AaaHH! Real Monsters." The old Nickelodeon cartoon reference is addressed in the awesome mixtape cover above, with samples of Little Dragon 's "Forever" used for the beat. Check it out below.

XV was dangerously close to bordering on Stalley territory for a while. Like 'cool dude rap on Passion Pit more. Sell me an Xbox, Bing or Windows Phone with your generic music bro.' That's how I felt at least. But a track with TDE's ScHoolboy Q should be enough to get your attention, if not the nostalgic nods to the 19902s. 1. "A1 Everything" - Meek Mill feat. Kendrick Lamar. Meek Mill was all over everything this week. The Maybach Music Group's star's highly anticipated mixtape Dreamchasers 2 dropped this week and continued to have giant buzz throughout the week. The tape had a bunch of big name features, including Trey Songz and Big Sean in addition to Kendrick, and had a bunch of cookie-cutter MMG beats but some true hip-hop beats on it as well. He made more news by signing a management deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation. Meek Mill feat. Kendrick Lamar - A1 Everything [ [...]

For the past five years, XXL has been releasing its series of progressively inconsistent “Freshman” lists. A collection of 10 artists who are deemed poised to have a breakthrough year in hip-hop - based on criteria so arbitrary and unreasonable it might as well be written in finger-paints. This year was no exception and, regarding some disrespectfully head-scratching inclusions, (the fuck is an Iggy Azalea and how do I keep it from infesting my mp3 garden?) we here at MJF decided to commune upon the round table and bring you a list that represents not only [...]
The year is coming to a close, and in less than a week 2011 will be no more than a memory. As we set our resolutions and prepare for the next chapter in our lives, many of us will be reflecting on the past year and the events that defined it - both for ourselves and society. For Earmilk , every year is defined by the music it brings to the table. We live and breath music over here, celebrating it to the highest extent as well as scrutinizing it to the finest detail. The beautiful thing about music [...]
