It's Friday, and you know what that means! It's Triple J’s Like A Version...day. Aussie band, Loon Lake  were the guest band covering The xx song "Angels"!

Angels is taken from The xx's new album Coexist which will be released by Young Turks on September 10th / 11th (US). This video was shot while The xx visited Japan in July 2012. Directed by Jamie-James Medina.

Apesar do disco já estar circulando pela internet desde o começo da semana, o duo The xx lança oficialmente seu segundo e aguardado álbum, Coexist , no dia 11 de outubro. Para divulgar o novo trabalho e fazer a alegria dos fãs, eles compartilharam um vídeo intimista e minimalista - assim como a banda - em que tocam o single Angels num quarto de hotel em Tóquio. O que acham?

When I saw an email The xx had performed Angels "live in Tokyo" I feared it was going to be at some overcrowded festival - but oh boy, how terribly wrong was I. Romy performed Angels in a hotel room (33rd floor, to be exact), Jamie and Oliver absent. This is The xx in its most purest form and probably the way most people prefer listening to it: completely on their own and in the dark. Coexist is out on September 10 via Young Turks, pre-order it here .

“We filmed this whilst on tour in Tokyo. We were so inspired by Tokyo and the view from Romy’s hotel room on the 33rd floor, that we asked our friend Jamie-James Medina to film us recording a version of Angels in there.” - The xx Coexist out next month on the 11th.

When The xx announced their comeback a few months ago they played a slew of sold out shows across the world, one of which was in Tokyo in July. Inspired by the Tokyo skyline and the view from Romy's hotel room 33 floors up, they set about recording an impromptu version of "Angels" , their song of the year contender from the new album Coexist , as Oliver laid on the bed next to some balloons being lulled to sleep.
