The British band The XX who made a boom with their debut album xx in 2009 are about to release a much awaited sophomore album on September 10th. There's a recurrent duality when it comes to analyzing this upcoming album, as it's the second, of a band whose elusive yet symbol-like name is moreover a perfectly symmetrical pair of x, featuring a pair of voices for lead vocals, and named coexist. Hence an anticipated listening of the album structured around the idea of 11 ways of coexisting. 1. "Angels" encourages Devotion This track is nearly [...]

Here is a demo titled 'Open Eyes' from The xx that was put on YouTube back on December 24th, 2011. Just a small piece of the puzzle as to what the new xx album will sound like. They still have that haunting, mysterious vibe as they showed on their outstanding debut album. The new album has to be close to the top on every one's most anticipated albums of 2012.
New music from the xx Back in 2009, the xx dropped their debut album on my unexpected ears and completely blew me away. Earning honors in the top 3 LPs of 2009 and unofficially winning "Rookie of the Year" titles, the South London trio have treated us (via their blog ) with holiday cheer by giving us all a sweet xx-mas present. Feast your ears on this slow, softly sung demo below, and get pumped about the idea of a new xx album in the distant future. [...]

Hopefully we'll get it done in time to be asked to do festivals next year, because that's the most fun." Although news to some, this could be considered a no-brainer with Jamie Smiths current solo workings as Jamie XX dominating 2011 with both remixes and originals. Further to the [...]

"What the Water Gave Me" is the new material from Florence + the Machine coming from her unnamed forthcoming album slated for a November release. The sprawling single gives you goosebumps and the album was recorded in Studio 3 of Abbey Road (both the Beatles and Pink Floyd recorded here) with a little help from Paul Epworth (Adele, Friendly Fires, Bloc Party). This seems almost like an inevitable production, right? After last year's Quix and Elliot "Biggie vs Tupac vs The xx" discovery, I suppose it was only a matter of time before some soul went and ingested the licks of the greatest rapper ever while simultaneously eating up The xx's entire debut album, only to pour out a full mashup album of the pair. Oh hello, Wait What , let's see what you have in store. [...]
