From it all starting "in a bedroom in South West London, after school, drinking too much Pepsi" to selling out shows internationally, it's fair to say that THE XX are damn hot property. They can now add to their heavy portfolio as their track 'Sunset' (from their latest record Coexist ) has been remixed by UK dance label Hot Creations co-owner, JAMIE JONES . The visuals of this YouTube upload feel as though we're looking at microscopic matter having a cheeky dance. Makes sense revealing the [...]
A while back, we posted a remix of one of Kid Smpl 's tracks "What Kept Us." That was the first time I became acquainted with the artist and he has been on my musical radar ever since. Today, the Seattle based musician has decided to release a remix of his own, choosing to alter the XX's poignant track "Fiction." Smothering the vocals of the original, the listener will only be able to hear mumbles as Kid Smpl gently lays over his own assortment of echoing piano chords and atmospheric samples. Reminding me of productions from other producers such [...]

![Best of 2012: Remixes [Top 12]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4692200_lg.jpg)
Last year was the first time that I did a "Best of" Remixes. So why not do it again this year. I am a sucker for songs being remixed and probably giving a bit of life to. You may agree or disagree on this list. Besides it might make you dance to it. So here it is my Top 12 Remixes of 2012. 1. Florence + The Machine - Spectrum (Say My Name) [Calvin Harris Remix] [...]

There's really only a handful of Xmas tunes we don't mind having to be bombarded with over and over again every winter and one of those is (of course) Wham!'s "Last Christmas" , not necessarily because of the standard's great '802s heyday George Michael vocal but also for its oddly amusing format of being a sonically cheery, but lyrically quite sour affair. Apparently, feeling like the original just wasn't depressing enough, forever-brooders The xx covered the song for a BBC Live Lounge appearance, fusing the song's Yuletide heartache with their signature [...]

So this is a pretty fitting song to post today. I just watched "The Other Guys" last night, and there are copious amounts of well-placed TLC references in the movie. Michael Keaton pulls these off perfectly and hilariously. Then, today I discover a cover of "No Scrubs" done by Bastille laid on top of The XX 's "Angels". I've got to say, the two mesh together so well. The song starts off slow, with audio clips from Hitchcock's Psycho , and an enchanting violin chimes in before Bastille starts singing the [...]
The xx , arguably my favorite band of all-time. I love their originals. I love remixes of their tunes. I love their live performances. I honestly love everything about them and I think all of you guys do too. To show my love for them, I've dedicated this post to their sensational bonus track titled "Reconsider" and have joined it with this amazing remix by Whomi of one of their classics "Crystalised." What I like to call an "XX Extravaganza," both these songs should remind you of why you love the XX so much and keep you forever [...]
The 1975's second EP is entitled Sex, and runs a hot 17:07 minutes. Do we really need to say more?
After throwing a show with Goldroom this weekend and partaking in St. Louis' Halloween festivities, I have to admit...I'm freaking beat! On days like this, I usually try to keep my music selection more downtempo and this edit from Forrest , who is one half of Prince Club, is fitting my exhausted state quite well right now. Completely free for download, all of you guys should be relaxing to this track this Sunday!
It just simple a beautiful. What else would you expect?
![[LP] The xx – COEXIST (w/ “Sunset”)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4550238_lg.jpg)
when i see you again and i'm greeted as a friend, it is understood that we did all we could If for some reason you haven't been mellowing out to The xx's new LP Coexist for the past few weeks then let this serve as a reminder to get with it. The subtle evolutions in their sound are slipped into Jamie xx's slightly bigger beats and the result – while perhaps not as addictive as their debut – is fantastic. Basking in the jumpy beat of "Sunset," its clear how his attention to perfection [...]
We know! We know! We know! You guys are probably saying, "Aren't you the guys that made fun of producers for remixing any new track the XX came out with?" Yes. Yes we are. But the reason why we were making fun of these producers was based off the fact that they were releasing unofficial remixes of XX that literally came out the day of. Seriously, they must have only had a few hours to work on them. It totally made them appear as if they were just trying to ride off the hype of the band was accumulating at [...]

On their sophomore effort, London dream pop outfit the xx drum up more of the skeletal, emotive style their first album delivered. WATCH THE REVIEW

Few sounds in modern-day pop are as intoxicating to the earbudded dome as the whisper-quiet intensity conjured by voices of Oliver Sims and Romy Madley-Croft circling around eachother to Jamie Smith's sparse, goth-gloom concoctions, so it's all kind of fantastic that "Chained", the second preview of The xx' highly anticipated Coexist following on-line insta-smash "Angels" , would find the trio working within this stylistic angle once more. Melting into the roles of two once-happy lovers now on the verge of a break-up, Sims and Madley-Croft orbit eachother like two planets in [...]

Here is this week's music singles chart for the week ending August 12 - 18. It is still a few weeks left before summer is going to end. This week's #1 single goes to UK's The xx. Looks like there is high anticipation when Coexist drops on September 11, 2012. I prefer Chained more than Angels. There are four new debuts from Jens Lekman and Wild Nothing. Check it out! This Week Last Week [...]
