The xx have have shared their cover of Beyonce's "I Miss You" because it was Valentines Day, thereby creating one of the easiest to like songs we'll ever bring you. It's like Christmas come early (or late depending on your calender trajectory) with Jessie Ware covering Rihanna's "Diamonds" and now The xx giving their spin on Beyonce's "I Miss You", which is also co-written by Frank Ocean. Stripped down in its acoustic aesthetics, Romy and Oliver trade verses on this solid cover. Valentine's Day has came out swinging with some of these songs and this is no different. The xx offered up their Valentine's Day present in the form of a video with them covering Beyoncé's ballad "I Miss You" from her 2011 album 4 . The band use their minimalistic approach to make this one worthy of your attention. It was recorded at a show on December 2nd in Austin, Texas.

If you weren't already feeling the romance this Valentine's Day, The xx have gone and covered Beyonce's emotional "I Miss You." Ugh, can my heart just get a minute to breathe today! Beyoncé's "I Miss You" is one of those records that just absolutely tears at the fabric of heartache and vulnerability. It's produced so well - starts calm and glowing and ascends into the closest thing to a well-manicured banshee cry, the layers of vocals each expressing a different tenor of pain. I loved the intimate setting of The Tiny Desk Series to showcase acts such as Miguel  and Alt-J .  The xx are the latest band to stop by NPR to perform two songs for their own session. Singing "Angels" and "Sunset," The xx's sounds echo through that tiny space so fully, you can feel their vulnerability. p.s. We've seen various videos of The xx performing live, and consistently killing it, but none in as intimate a setting as this. For this episode of NPR's Tiny Desk concert series (previous guests include  Miguel who came through with a sparkling, personality-filled three track set), two thirds of The xx run through stripped back, percussion-less versions of "Angels" and "Sunset," just reminding everyone how brilliant this band are in a live setting. Check out the footage below.

The folks over at NPR Music have a pretty good gig going for them. Not only do they make a living of this music stuff, but they occasionally have incredible artists come through and do private concerts for them.
