“We filmed this whilst on tour in Tokyo. We were so inspired by Tokyo and the view from Romy’s hotel room on the 33rd floor, that we asked our friend Jamie-James Medina to film us recording a version of Angels in there.” - The xx Coexist out next month on the 11th.

When The xx announced their comeback a few months ago they played a slew of sold out shows across the world, one of which was in Tokyo in July. Inspired by the Tokyo skyline and the view from Romy's hotel room 33 floors up, they set about recording an impromptu version of "Angels" , their song of the year contender from the new album Coexist , as Oliver laid on the bed next to some balloons being lulled to sleep. A nice surprise in the inbox today from  Astronauts, etc. , the solo project of Berkeley student Anthony Ferraro.  Ferraro turned to electronic music when arthritis prevented him from pursuing a career in classical piano; the result is the Supermelodic Pulp  EP (slated for release on Sept. 8th).  Each song will feature a sci-fi music video for each of its five tracks, with a loose narrative tying them together.  Take a listen, here's "Mystery Colors".  For fans of The xx, Bon Iver, Beach House. Není to tak dlouho co The xx vydali první singl Angels . Nyní jsou tu s novým singlem Chained z připravované desky Coexist , která vyjde 10. září na Young Turks . Podobně jako předchozí singl je i jeho následovník ztvárněn zcela abstraktní formou, kterou má na svědomí Davy Evans . Vše co je v klipu zobrazeno je tvořeno v reálném čase před kamerou s pomocí vzájemných interakcí různých chemikálií ve vodě. Vypadá to velmi působivě a nezvykle. En esta oportunidad la agrupación revelación Inglaterra que lanzó su primer disco con el que se llevó varios premios –entre ellos el Mercury Prize -, en un show en vivo, tocó dos nuevas canciones . We used to get closer than this- The xx 's sophomore LP was composed and recorded mainly in a room lined with black velvet. The room wasn't exactly soundproof and the material worked to muffle the noise. One can only imagine the effect that writing in that atmosphere would have on the soundscapes of the record. "Chained" is the second song to emerge from  Coexist and is accompanied by a psychedelic video (which resembles something like an eardrum), just like the first, "Angels." We're not technically sure when it's ok to describe anticipation for The xx's upcoming record as 'fever pitch', but by hum we're going to start doing it right about.......now. So, with anticipation reaching fever pitch the pesky trio have only gone and let us suckle at another of Coexist 's swollen teets. Woah. This post is getting pretty weird huh? In this ditty the singer of the song sings about missing someone. "We used to be closer than this" sings the singer, presumably imagining a person or a close pet whilst doing so. [...]

September 11th is when we'll get a sophomore album from bedroom pop outfit The xx, ( Coexist , via Young Turks ) but they've already loosed two tracks to help us stave off impatience. Here's a couple more tracks from The XX's forthcoming album Coexist performed live at Los Angeles' Fonda Theatre last week. Make of them what you will and post any love/vitriolic hatred of similarities to the first album in the comments. Personally, I'm loving the beat on "Reunion", although the footage of "Swept Away" I heard the other day is, so far at least, the most promising snippet of the record. A few days back, we posted about The xx debuting a new song titled "Swept Away" during a recent performance in Los Angeles, and it seems that a few more videos from that performance have surfaced. Below, let your eardrums succumb to the audible beauty that is "Sunset" and "Reunion", two amazing tracks that make the wait for Coexist even more excruciating. Yesterday, a video of The xx performing a new song off of their pending album, Coexist , made its way into the blogosphere. As LBYB so diligently points out, there appears to be a number of fan-filmed videos of the UK band performing new songs uploaded onto YouTube, also from their recent LA show. The xx performed a good amount of Coexist material on their LA shows last week. We already pointed you to a video of “Swept Away,” now check out two other new tracks that should appear on the album, "Sunset" and "Reunion." We've heard "Reunion" played live before, then an anonymous eight minute stunner, but it's worth another listen –– wow.
