Not exactly an April Fool's joke here, because this Friday two GBH favorites are coming to play Webster Hall for the weekly Girls & Boys party here in New York. Chris Keating, the front-man of Yeasayer will be DJ'ing alongside the one and only leader of The Roots crew, Questlove. Entry is only $5 before [...]

This post is a "QuickPick". QuickPicks are my attempt at getting all of the music that's sent to me that I like (or just music I like but have no words for because it's so awesome), out into the dubya dots. Any time I get sent music that I like I "star" it in Gmail and then go back and listen to it a day later. If it's still as good as it was a day before then it goes up on the site, but sometimes I get backlogged and can't get [...]

Major Lazer - Pon De Floor For those of you who know me personally, you know I like to go dancing. And this tune is the one I like to groove to. I have always heard it, and I know a lot of dj's use this beat, but I just never knew the name of the song 'til yesterday when I finally found it, and knew I needed to feature it of coarse. Now get on your feet, feel the beat, and put it on repeat! If you enjoyed that track, here are few [...]
Band meeting: Yeasayer’s Anand Wilder, Ira Wolf Tuton and Chris Keating are hunched around a kitchen table to brainstorm song names. Double-entendres, commercial potential, stealing lines from poetry and revising “cheesy” lyrics are all discussed. “The Children. I mean that’s a stupid title,” says Wilder, reading the sheet in front of him. “It’s not catchy at all,” agrees Keating. Woodstock, April 2009: They’ve been jamming new material constantly, discussing possible comparisons, being their worst critics and best editors. It goes on in the living room, downstairs in the studio, even outside [...]

Experimental psychedelic rockers Yeasayer showcase their new album Odd Blood after-hours surrounded by 500 fans and several stuffed North American Mammals

Just happened to come across this album by Yeasayer which just "dropped" today in music stores/ iTunes . Its going to be one of those bands that is getting alot of buzz these days. I will never see live in concert during my lifetime and skip Ottawa. Please bear with me since I don't know that much of this band. Did some research on them on Wikipedia . That Odd Blood is their second album. That the band is from Brooklyn, New York and that their music has been [...]
Yeasayer's highly anticipated follow-up proves to be one of 2010's first great albums.

Odd Blood is, as you may have garnered from its somewhat provocative titling, a bizarre record, its veins gushing with an unfathomable concoction of influences constantly threatening to burst the thickest of arteries with a listen as enthralling as the most shocking of heart attack-inducing discoveries. Opening with the haunting marimba intro to The Children, Chris Keating’s best vocoded impression of The Knife’s Karin Dreijer Andersson spurts from the heart of a disturbingly subdued modern masterpiece. The alpinist undulations of Ambling Amp follow, bustling with a beaming pop hook classier than any Cheryl Cole’s spawned as of yet. The tribal [...]

words: Jamie Milton With modern day pop music, there are no limits. Artists are flocking towards it because they know it a) sells well and b) gives room for development. Animal Collective were the most notable entry into more glossy stratospheres and Yeasayer are most definitely the next indie-cred-sweethearts turning their heads towards a more streamlined direction. 'Odd Blood' defines pop as something far from simple; more twisted than the norm. Yeasayer absorb all the energy and fun from debut 'All Hour Cymbals' and apply [...]
After releasing their self titled EP this spring, Brooklyn based band Suckers are set to record their debut full length next month after signing to New York label Gigantic . For more head to their myspace , and be sure to look out for a remix of It Gets Your Body Movin by Yeasayer's Chris Keating.

I’ve always really liked Simian Mobile Disco , the production and remix team, which I guess you could call a band. They formed from the ashes of Simian and the members consist of James Ford and Jas Shaw . Their music is electronic based but always original and most of the time, a little out there. "Audacity of Huge" is a track off of their last studio release Temporary Pleasure . I didn’t think I liked it at first but I actually really do. It’s just so damn catchy. [...]

It's been over two years since Simian Mobile Disco released their debut album, Attack Decay Sustain Release . While their remix sampler Sample and Hold showed off re-rerubs of their aforementioned album's tunes handpicked by SMD's James Shaw and James Ford (who has produced Arctic Monkey, Klaxons, Peaches, Florence & The Machine), fans of the twosome's booming synthetic throb have been jonesin' for fresh new tunes. Thank goodness SMD will release their eagerly awaited Temporary Pleasure on September 15th. Featuring cameos from Gruff Rhys , Beth Ditto , Hot [...]

Simian Mobile Disco have premiered the music video for the first single off the duo's forthcoming album, ' Temporary Pleasure '. The duo have released the video for ' Audacity Of Huge ', which features Yeasayer 's Chris Keating . The music video was directed by Kate Moross . ' Temporary Pleasure ' is due out August 18 via Wichita Records . Simian Mobile Disco [...]

By now I'm sure you've heard this track. However, I am going to jump on the bandwagon because it's a track that truly deserves to saturate your eardrums until you are sick of it. Simian Mobile Disco's Audacity of Huge features guest vocals from Chris Keating of Yeasayer and it's just the pairing I needed to finally convert me into a card-carrying SMD fan. I love everything about this track, and it truly gets better with each listen. The minimal composition and the robotic, droning chorus are the perfect [...]

This is set to be the lead single off Simian Mobile Disco 's second album, 'Temporary Pleasure'. It's called 'Audacity Of Huge', and it's pretty good. Yeasayer's very own Chris Keating provides the vocals. Only a low quality version is available at the moment, and it was released for streaming on their website, as the single and the album aren't actually out until August. But my early thoughts of the song is that its quite Chemical Brothers-esque. SMD have already given us a chance to listen to two other songs from Temporary Pleasure. 'Synthesise' is [...]

Simian Mobile Disco (feat. Chris Keating of Yeasayer) - Audacity Of Huge
Descontadas as relevâncias e proporções, a música [...]
