It is our countdown til our ONE year Anniversary, four days away from the 24th of July and just as Christmas starts celebrating the days prior to the BIG event here we are making NOIZE of our own. Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out (Hoaxx remix) (Tits and Clits edit) So who better to start things off than our Hungarian lads, Tits & Clits, who just recently did our a Podcast for our site prior to Mr. Vega 's. Tits and Clits is [...]

It may sound backwards to plan the dates of our vacation around the layover, but when we found out we'd be flying through the dubstep capital of the world on our way to Greece, we couldn't resist. Our weekend of choice? July 16-19... find out why, after the jump. LOVEBOX Venue: Victoria Park (110 Grove Road, London E3) Date: Friday, July 16 - Sunday, July 18 Doors Open: 2 PM on Friday / 12 Noon on Saturday [...]

We were already amped about the massive line-up for Øya Festival in Norway, but after seeing the list of artists scheduled to perform at Nighttime Øya, our anticipation has gone through the roof. Øya has teamed up with some of the best clubs in Oslo to keep the music going after the park closes at 11 PM. Diplo, Caribou, Four Tet, Jamie XX are among those who will illuminate the nightlife scene in the nation's capital each night after the festival. As for the festival itself, Yeasayer, Die Antwood, and the Flaming Lips have been added [...]

Whether strolling, sitting, sprawling, sunbathing, snoozing, or any combination of the above, we all know no neighborhood park rendezvous is complete without some killer tracks. How else to drown out the buzz of city life that never really goes away? In the spirit of all the awesome outdoor summer music fests, here's a mix of ten contemporary summer jams, the perfect combination for soundtracking your own party in the park. 1. “Fables” by The Dodos There’s a certain old-timey charm about this melodic, percussive driven track. Maybe it’s the sweet, pleading [...]

I don’t know where to start. This time last week I was a sweaty mess of half wrecked excitement somewhere in the centre of Barcelona. Now I’m sitting with the sniffles alone in my bedroom trying to figure out how to consolidate one of the best festivals of my life into a word count below that of the Oxford English Dictionary. I arrived at Bristol airport at 5am on Wednesday after about three hours of sleep on my friend Sophie’s sofa. I got in the boarding queue early so I could get a window seat, all for the [...]
Mad Decent is hosting a Yeasayer remix contest and our very own Bopper Mercurius FM has entered the contest. He is 2 weeks behind in the voting spree...but lets see if we can catch him up with this unique spin on Yeasayer - ONE. [ VOTE ] ONE (MERCURIUS FM's 909 REMIX) by MERCURIUS FM
Jay Mattson covers his favorite songs of the year so far. Although the year is not even halfway over, there has been enough great music to warrant a recap of sorts this early. MP3s include work by Liars, Plants and Animals, Gigi, Crystal Castles, The Black Keys, Band of Horses, The New Pornographers, and Yeasayer.

There are in fact probably approximately 125+ good reasons (just cast your eye on the tags below) to be excited about Primavera Sound 2010, and if you've already bought a ticket (or are still planning to) you'll probably have your own personal handful. I'll leave you with 14 (below), one for every day until Primavera Sound 2010 kicks off in exactly two weeks time. I don't know about you, but excited doesn't even begin to describe it for me. The lineup truly looks is as if the organisers carefully studied and then booked my last.fm [...]

Even with many acts still to be revealed, the lineup for Scottish festival T in the Park is looking pretty impressive. From 9th to 11th July, 2010, thousands of punters will descend upon a disused airfield in Balado, Kinross-shire for a weekend of camping, shopping, carnival attractions and music across 7 stages. Friday night see's live favourite Muse headline the main stage, which will also be graced by Paloma Faith , Faithless and other artists yet to be announced. Rather disappointingly, the Radio 1/NME Stage will be [...]

Believe it or not, the beloved summer season is just around the corner. This usually means a lot to most people. For music and art lovers, it's a significant time to embrace such wonderful mediums, and this year's Latitude Festival is looking to be loveable. Now is a good time to start scrutinizing that budget of yours. Those pennies you save will indeed be worth the oozing joy you'll feel July 15-18 at Henham Park. Having entered its fifth season, the Latitude Festival sure knows how to pack a mighty punch. If [...]

After Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds Festivals are the granddaddy of all music festivals. Some of the best bands, the biggest exclusives and best lineups all come together for three massive days over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Last year they "played it safe" with a lineup of Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead, but this year they've gone for a bit more interesting selection, returning to their rock roots. This year, The Libertines are going to be the big news of the festival, [...]
Say what you will about these guys, but the press photos don't lie--Yeasayer are 100% willing to do the craziest, most unflattering space future hippy thing ever, whether that be engaging in games... Continue reading "New Bonkers Yeasayer Video: "O.N.E."" >

Sometimes a band can take sounding retro too far and venture into straight replication of previously chartered ground. Unfortunately for Yeasayer , and their sophomore effort, Odd Blood , what they achieve sounds like an 80’s new-wave cover band attempting to write originals of their own. What results is a collection of stale and regurgitated sounding songs that don’t compel multiple plays. Gone is the edgy but airy, acoustic tinged, pop from All Hour Cymbals and in its place are a heavy dose of synth sounds, [...]
Due to their album somehow leaking a month early, Seabear fans discovered their wait was reduced by a month from the original release date of March 5th. As one of my esteemed colleagues suggested yesterday, this is a band that perhaps suffers some from being seen in the cold light of real life. Which is to say: appearances are not Yeasayer's str... Continue reading "Yeasayer Played "Ambling Alp" on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Last Night" >
So Brooklyn electro-jam-band Yeasayer's new record, Odd Blood, is out this week. Here are some thoughts on it. They seem like lovely people. The whole press-photo thing, though, seems to give t... Continue reading "It's Time For An In-Depth Analysis Of Bizarre Yeasayer Press Photos" >
Expectations are a tricky thing. We all have them, but sometimes we put the object of that affection on such a high pedestal that those expectations are bound to be disappointed no matter what the outcome. What's more, if you're one of the lucky few that are constantly gratified by those expectations being met, you begin to lose the innocence and joy of life's variability. You become dull, as does everything around you. Most of us, especially with the music we love, demand too much of a future we can't see. Sometimes things work out, other times they don't, but [...]
