Ahmed Gallab será un nombre que no les suena mucho, pero lleva ya tiempo tocando múltiples instrumentos con Yeasayer y como baterista en los tours de Of Montreal y Caribou. También tiene ya 2 LPs bajo el nombre de Sinkane , y el tercero, Mars , será lanzado a finales de este año. Mars incluye tracks en los que Sinkane colaboró con George Lewis (Twin Shadow) y Ira Wolf (Yeasayer), pero el primer sencillo no es ninguna de estas. Yeasayer es una de las agrupaciones que, particularmente, más sigo en los últimos tiempos. No solo poque la música que hace es simplemente genial, sino porque innovan, tienen un sonido fresquísimo y unos groove perfectos y una variedad bastante importante. El agosto pasado la agrupación de Brooklyn lanzó Fragant World que sucedió a su increíblemente exitoso Odd Blood y si bien me parece que bajaron un poco el nivel, algunos de los tracks podrían tranquilamente formar parte de un imaginario [...]

I'm not sure if there's any connection, intentional or otherwise, but the brand-new clip for Yeasayer's "Reagan's Skeleton" - a highlight from the band's recent third album, Fragrant World - has a real Reagan-era feel to it: It's a dramatically lit performance video that would have fit comfortably on MTV circa '85, in between vids from Simple Minds and the Power Station . That feeling is enhanced by the weird wavy quality of the picture, which makes it look like it was recorded off TV onto a well-worn VHS cassette. And [...]

Yeasayer are currently taking a break between tours, and in the meantime they have a brand new video for the Fragrant World track "Reagan's Skeleton". The video sees the band performing the song in the studio, with a tinge of VHS-style layering adding some visual fidelity to the clip. Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard direct. Watch the replay above. Brooklyn band Yeasayer has released a video for "Reagan's Skeleton," which appears on their latest LP, Fragrant World . Directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard took a straightforward approach, documenting the band playing the track, but with some old school VHS-style flair. Die Jungs von Yeasayer haben bereits im August ihr neues Album Fragrant World auf Mute rausgebracht und sind schon seit einiger Zeit mit ihrer ersten Single-Auskopplung " Longevity " weltweit am Start. Pero tras el incremento del pop más aventurero surgen cosas demasiado aventureras e no tan pop como uno como yo puede desear. Así es con mucho gusto y en bueno heladeria style (primero se escucha despúes se comparte!) que recomendo su último albúm Fragrant World . Puede ser que el hecho de no tener un caracter tan audaz como el albúm anterior no sea al gusto de muchos, pero con temas [...]

Another video has been unveiled. This time, it is for Yeasayer's "Longevity". As described, the video shows the band gradually aging and ultimately decaying in the studio. Chris Keating gets the worst of it, though he pulls off the bald/beard look surprisingly well. The band's new album "Fragrant World" is out now via Secretly Canadian. Fragant World es un trabajo muy sólido, lanzado hace apenas unos días, que viene de la mano de los psicodélicos Yeasayer. La banda alcanza su madurez después de otros 2 trabajos que dieron bastante de que hablar. Aunque el vídeo oficial para "Longevity" se estrenara antes que el propio disco para promocionarlo, ahora se estrena otro, esta vez más consistente, en el que podemos ver lo que parece una clara provocación, ya que está grabado dentro de una iglesia, o eso escenifica. Lo que parecía un video genérico más de una banda recreando una sesión de grabación -con las curiosas gesticulaciones de Chris Keating como único rasgo particular-, se retuerce súbitamente para convertirse en una broma de humor un tanto negro. No quiero alarmarlos, pero parece que los Yeasayer enfermaron de progeria súbitamente y ya en edad adulta. Para no tener que contarles más, les dejamos "Longevity", el recién estrenado video del grupo.

Un cálido pero presionado ambiente de estudio/iglesia es la locación del nuevo video de Yeasayer para Longevity .
