The video features, what appears to be, disillusioned kids going nuts on their neighborhood with Wolverine claws and Jason masks, included. Much (deservedly) hyped band, Yellow Ostrich , is out with their second single from their soon-to-be-released album Strange Land . ATG is no stranger to Ian Anderson's previous work, though "Marathon Runner" sounds more polished than earlier versions, in all the right places. The layering of delayed vocals and rolling drums somehow balance the song out. The chorus highlights Ian Anderson’s ability to straddle the line between clarity and gravel. Gravity? I'm looking forward to March 6th, as its when we're going to get the chance to pick up the new album from New York band Yellow Ostrich (via Barsuk Records).  Titled Strange Land , it follows The Mistress and was self-produced with engineer Beau Sorenson (Death Cab for Cutie, Sparklehorse).  This record also features multi-instrumentalist Jon Natchez and drummer Michael Tapper, a fully formed band, no longer the bedroom project of lead singer Alex Schaaf. Check out the first listen in "Marathon Runner".

A while back,  Yellow Ostrich was featured in an Indie Sabbath post and it included the track "Whale". Don't worry, if you missed that, I have it linked and there is a video below.
