Barsuk Records is excited to debut Yellow Ostrich 's video for "Ghost", the title track from the band's recent 6-song release. The clip, directed by the band and Frank Larson, premiered via Stereogum, who described it as "focus[ing] tight on bandleader Alex Schaaf, alternating between the singer delivering his lament in present-day and fuzzy old VHS footage capturing happier bygone times." Alex Schaff and the guys from Yellow Ostrich are back at it again with a video for "Ghost" that tugs at the heartstrings. Director Frank Larson's adds a gorgeous visual dimension to the track. The piece evokes an extreme sense of loneliness, beginning wi th Schaff sitting alone staring out a window. But what makes it so hauntingly beautiful is how his memories are projected via 8mm home video across the dark house where he resides. Slowly, the video becomes an array of these hazy clips, ending as it begins. It's not going to brighten your day, but it's well worth a watch. [...]

"The Shakedown" by Yellow Ostrich , from the band's sophomore full-length, Strange Land . Directed by the band, singer/guitarist Alex Schaaf described the making of the video: "We made this video ourselves in Michael's basement.  With no budget and minimal gear, we explored the beauty of darkness."

Yellow Ostrich applies their songwriting blueprint to a complementary medium on "The Shakedown."

'The Shakedown' is Yellow Ostrich's second video from their sophomore release Strange Land. The video offers up a super cool neon, glow in the dark performance, so go ahead and turn off the lights and turn up the volume.
