Over Christmas I took on a project- the restoration of a Mono Beatles Rubber Soul . New Field track! From the upcoming Yesterday & Today , due out May 19 here in Ah-mer-eek-ah. This sounds way more dancefloor ready than most of From Here We Go Sublime ...maybe it's that the samples are a bit longer. [via RCRD LBL ]

One of the few minimal electronic albums that has caught my ear over the last few years was The Field's debut, From Here We Go Sublime . It was one of those great records that was pretty universal as to where you played it. It worked in traffic, at parties, pretty much all of the above. The weird thing about it though it was that the Field, aka Sweden's Axel Willner, didn't do much touring or promo for the album. I didn't even know what the guy looked like until he performed at Pitchfork last year. [...]

Gahh!! Great news from Kompakt . The Field , one of my favorite albums and live performers from 2007, will be releasing an follow up album for me to fawn over on the 25th of May. Entitled Yesterday & Today , the drummer from Battles will be one of the albums "surprises" and we should all expect "a much more organic affair." I think that means guitars?? This year is finally looking up...now excuse me while I go make room at the top of my "Best of 2009" list.
