The Ministry of External Affairs has been releasing documentaries that explore India's culture and art, and as part of this have released a documentary called Sound Check: Music of Contemporary India . April 5, 6, and 7 will see the Nilgiri's hill station taken over by The Mad Festival which features music, dance and art. We earlier reported the dates of the Storm Festival to be held at an unnamed location near Coorg, home to the cancelled Tamara Confluence . With a revamped website , the festival recently announced a first lineup of artists who will be performing at the event, still leaving the option of suggesting a DJ and/or a band open to fans. Tickets will go on sale sometime in mid-September. Fireflies, an ashram located on the outskirts of Bangalore, opens its gates once every year to embrace music from all over the country. On Saturday, February 19, I reached the venue in the afternoon for the Swarathma soundcheck, and the crowd was already trickling in for an event which was to scheduled for 7 pm that evening.
