So, this is the end. I leave you with a high top fade, an old Coogi sweater, and some impeccable harmonies. And, if you'll follow me after the jump one more time, I'll leave with you my goodbyes. You hit play before you started reading this, right? DO IT. Ok, now pretend Coach Taylor is reading you these words. Folks, it has [...]

There have been a few kinda definitive YMR bands, and this is one of them. We'll get into a couple more of them tomorrow as we say goodbye. Break out the hankies then, but for now...

This has long been one of my favorite posts to write every week. I'm a former record store employee so I have a strange nostalgia for the excitement that Tuesday used to bring. I suppose it's not so exciting anymore in this day of online leaks and advance streaming, but I still tend to hold out and listen to the ones I really want to hear for the first time via the disc and not the computer. Once I found myself skipping this post with out much of an urge to get online and fix that mistake immediately, I realized [...]

So, this has been coming for a long time, let's just get to it. This is gonna be the last week for good ol' DeadOn. Now now, hold back your tears, please. The time has come, and frankly, we know it might even be a little overdue. We're gonna take a little time to reflect over the next few days - one last Hills recap, one final trip around the Roundtable - and we'll have the expected overly sentimental post come Friday. I love you all a little too much, but we're all going down this [...]

Hey, it's Friday and it's payday. You have to like those odds.

You've noticed a lack of YMR and NMT around here lately, haven't you? I'm not gonna lie to you. Work is really busy and blog time gets shorter by the week. We'll talk about it more in the coming weeks though. For now, here's a bit of the new Better Than Ezra album Paper Empire. Enjoy "Absolutely Still".

Happy Monday - here's hoping we'll have a lovely week. I'm sick of the rain that's plagued May in the DC area.

Happy Friday, folks. I apologize for the lack of posts around here lately. Real life, ya know?

After a great Saturday night with Guster, I feel like revisiting all of my favorites from college this week.

Happy May Day! Hopefully, I will find myself fully recovered from WHEN ALLERGIES ATTACK 2009 and will be able to fully enjoy these fellas (for like the 30th time) on Saturday. Have a great weekend, y'all.

I have a feeling this is going to be huge this summer. Enjoy!

Both of you can settle down, because New Music Tuesday has returned. And I've returned for a pretty meh week. Just like always. Ok, so I think the new Ben Folds Presents: University A Cappella! is kind of a nifty concept. Here's this week's rundown: Bob Dylan - Together Through Life. Jan Wenner just wet himself. But it's natural at his age. Ben Folds Presents: University A Cappella! Surely there are more talented lovely [...]

Not only are The Duhks a great band, they've also got a great green project going on right now.

It was a very busy weekend, I'm feeling a little folky and soul-ish today.

Tonight is gonna be a good night, folks. Lily Allen at the 9:30 followed up some a little DC carousing on what is supposed to be a lovely night. Natalie Portman's Shaved Head is the opener tonight - anyone familiar with them? They look to be a hipster nightmare explosion from the one video I saw on the YouTubes. Anyway, here's our 47897th time running a Lily Allen video here. Have a great weekend! And thanks again for taking us over a million at last!

Some time in the middle of the night, we hit a milestone here at DeadOn - we cracked the one million mark on page views. It's an arbitrary celebration, but it feels big to me. Mostly I'm proud of the way we've reached 1,000,000 - we've never been link whores, we don't beg other bloggers to link to us, we've just kinda fallen into it. If you build it, they will come. Our MTV recaps (especially The Hills...) have been the big traffic driver over the past year, but on occasion our other features have brought in some eyes. So, [...]

Monday was a very long day - car inspection in the morning, trip into DC for food and drink with some of the DS commentariot, and then the Nats home opener (coupled with the loss of Harry Kalas and Mark Fidrych that afternoon). Then I had to do two sets of taxes last night. In other words, I lack the time to properly give you a NMT post. Know this - Silversun Pickups is the big release, Death Cab has an EP getting a physical release, and the extremely excellent Ida Maria album comes out in non-digital form as well. [...]

It should be a good day today - I'm taking off from work and heading into town for the Nats home opener vs. the Phils. I wonder if the Nats can challenge 42-120 this year because they look AWFUL thus far. Let's dance, shall we?

Howdy gang! Are you enjoy the influx of Hills-related madness as much as I am? I've missed you crazy commenters!

Well, things didn't work out for Sparty last night. As a graduate of a large public mid-Michigan university, this brings me much sadness. Such is life. The good news is that today is just loaded with good music awaiting you on the store shelves. New Tragically Hip today! Hells yes! Can you tell I spent a lot of my formative years near the Canadian border? Is it obvious yet? But wait, there's A LOT MORE!!! The Tragically Hip [...]
