Yuck released the great track " Get Away " and with it came this B-Side that the band have kindly offered up via a blog post for us all to enjoy! Isn't that nice. If you didn't check out the weird kind of NSFW video for the track "Get Away" you can do so over here . The band will be playing across the states in the coming months. Dates of which can be seen after the jump. To pick up the album from these guys just click here. Doctors In [...]
Our favorite new outfit of the year is definitely Yuck (and we just posted their track “Shook Down” as one of the top 25 tunes of the year thus far ). Their self-titled debut is irresistible, bringing modern college garage rock a whole new meaning. This post is a "QuickPick". QuickPicks are my attempt at getting all of the music that's sent to me that I like (or just music I like but have no words for because it's so awesome), out into the dubya dots. Any time I get sent music that I like I "star" it in Gmail and then go back and listen to it a day later. If it's still as good as it was a day before then it goes up on the site, but sometimes I get backlogged and can't get through writing [...]

I'll tell you this right now; If Yuck don't release a single and video for every song on their debut album I'm gonna flip my shit. Thankfully they're well on the way to do doing that, what with latest single and video being "Get Away", filmed (presumably) on their recent tour of the U.S. Whilst nothing groundbreaking, it does serve as another reason to not only listen to the song but watch the drummer's amazing Fro. Look at it! Would you look at it? Oh would you look at that! Would you [...]
![[Follow Friday #3] – The Needle Drop – @theneedledrop](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3257272_lg.jpg)
Follow Friday is an “event” on Twitter where users suggest other Twitter users to follow. It’s a great idea but so many awesome sites and blogs and users get lost in the noise, so for everyone who doesn’t follow LBYB on Twitter , I’ll do this every Friday and highlight one site or blog I frequent that I think you should frequent too. I know it's not Friday but it's the first chance I've had today to make it, so it's a Follow Friday, posted on Saturday. Who?: The Needle Drop [...]
![[Listen/Download] – New Album By Yuck – “Yuck”](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3205248_lg.jpg)
One of my most anticipated albums of this year is down below for you to hear, and it was just given an excellent 8.1 on Pitchfork . It's an album I've spoken a lot about over the last past 12 months but Yuck 's debut self-titled is finally here, even if it does omit one of their best tracks; "Automatic" . At first I wasn't feeling it, some of the songs seemed to blend into the others and just become noise but then I realised I wasn't actually giving it my full attention, so on [...]

ALRIGHT! FINE! I admit it, I really like Yuck 's debut album, you happy now? For those unaware I was initially met with disappointment upon my first couple of listens, but I took a break, listened to Starfucker 's new album and revisited it a week later, ears afresh. It's a really great album and if you were in the same place as me after your first couple of listens, just take a break and then give it another try. Their previous single "Rubber" is now unavailable (although some places say it [...]
![[Listen/Download] – New Song By Yuck – “Coconut Bible”](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3135789_lg.jpg)
You may remember me gushing all over Yuck last year (and this year so far) about how much I'd fallen in love with them. Welp, I gave their album a listen a guess what? I don't really like it. sadface Admittedly though I've only listened to it a couple of times and neither were distraction free so for now I'll reserve judgement completely, but I was disappointed by a few of the songs and as soon as this b-side to "Holing Out" started playing my first thought was "Mmmmm I could eat some chocolate covered coconut [...]

Yuck are another obscenely talented young band – five Londoners captained by a 20-year-old singer and songwriter who take the best of ‘90s college radio in one hand and today’s lo-fi aesthetic in the other, and mix all that droney, nostalgic fuzz into one hazy sunset of a sound. ![[Listen/Download] – Porcelain Raft – “Tip of Your Tongue” (Keep Shelly In Athens Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3075442_lg.jpg)
Late last week, Frank posted about Porcelain Raft's cover of "The Wall" by Yuck, as well as Yuck's reciprocal cover of "Despite Everything" by Porcelain Raft. Today, we have a new re-working of a Porcelain Raft song via Keep Shelly In Athens' remix of "Tip of Your Tongue." The most notable change made by Keep Shelly In Athens is that this remix sounds absolutely nothing like the original. Gone is Porcelain Raft's grating pronunciation of "tip" (a welcome change). Gone are the distinctive guitar tones. Gone is any sense of subtlety. Keep Shelly In Athens instead [...]
You've no doubt heard me gushing over Yuck in the last few months, and rightly so, their debut album almost being as anticipated as James Blake's and Radiohead's...or maybe more so, I haven't figured that out yet. Anyway, yesterday the guys announced their next release, a split 73 with Porcelain Raft, both bands covering a song of each other's. Whipping out the parentheses before and after the "c", they did their take on Porcelain Raft's "Despite Everything", and he did his own take on their song "The Wall" . Incidentally, Porcelain Raft also made videos for [...]
Yuck are a crew of shoegazing North Londoners who are releasing some pretty great music videos to compliment their stunningly atmospheric tracks. The videos that accompany their material are as artistically strong as the music itself, they've got to be seen to be believed. In this video, a cute-hot dog-groomer-in-training daydreams her way through a lesson in all things dogs (including ... two words... "anal glands") and features one ridiculously steamy shower scenes (yup, more naked boobs and some tasteful nudity). Like I said above, this [...]
![[Listen] – New Song By Yuck – “Holing Out”](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3035606_lg.jpg)
By now I'm pretty sure we've heard almost every song from Yuck's upcoming debut album due out January. It seems like I'm posting a new song of theirs every month or so and I've yet to hear a shite one, so I'm just hoping they're keeping some new unheard ones for the LP itself. "Holing Out" instantly takes me back to mid-902s grunge-o-rock, as did their previous tune "The Base Of A Dream Is Empty" , a b-side from their last single "Rubber". After blowing me away back in June I've been hooked [...]
![[Listen/Download] – New Song By Yuck – “The Wall”](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2942587_lg.jpg)
Apparently they're gonna just release a new song every week. Even though I've been posting new stuff from Yuck on a fairly regular basis lately I still haven't heard a bad song yet and this one's up there too. It's been around since the start of the year and the few blogs who had it were asked to remove it, but yesterday though on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio One show this was his hottest record of the week, cut from their upcoming self-titled debut album on January 18th 2011 via [...]
![[Listen/Download] – New Song By Yuck – “The Base Of A Dream Is Empty”](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2927739_lg.jpg)
Like I said yesterday (or the day before) about MillionYoung , if these guys keep releasing tracks for free then by the time the album drops we'll have heard it all already. I don't give a shit, good music is good music, and Yuck are making some of the best that I've heard all year. This new track is a B-side to both of their upcoming singles "Rubber" and "Georgia" , and it's a giant Lo-Fi throwback to the grunge and Alt-Rock of the early to mid 90s, recalling Smashing Pumpkins and another band [...]
![[Listen] – New Song By Yuck – “Rubber”](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2862367_lg.jpg)
One of my favourite new bands of the year is Yuck . They've been consistently churning out awesome new tunes for free over the last few months and this morning they announced that they're releasing the below song as a 123 along with B-sides "The Base Of A Dream Is Empty" and "Dark Magnet." No word yet on when it'll be released or by who, or for how much, but they haven't had many physical releases so far (a couple of tapes and a split 73), with another planned for late this year/early [...]
