MIIKE SNOW – SILVIA (ROBOTBERGET REMIX)

MIIKE SNOW – SILVIA (ROBOTBERGET REMIX) I've received some requests to post more dance music on ATG-specifically more house music. While I tend to keep my aggressive love of house tucked away from you folks, sometimes I cannot help myself, and this is one of those times. Miike Snow's well-known "Silvia" has been remixed seemingly a billion times, including a flawless house remix by Sebastian Ingrosso & Dirty South . Other remixes by the usual suspects (Sinden, Felix Da Housecat, Emalkay) are danceable, but none reached Swedish House Mafia levels. None-that is-until the boys remixed themselves. Robotberget is the remix alias of Christian [...]

STARFUCKER – BORN

STARFUCKER – BORN Is it too early to make a best of 2011 list? Yes? Well then, mark my words, Starfucker 's Reptilians will fit snugly somewhere near the top of said list. "Born" sounds like all of the best parts of The Flaming Lips and the band's best hit (see: "Rawnald Gregory Erickson The Second"). Enjoy this little ray of sunshine on a day in which every goddamn state is getting blasted by snow. Spring can't come soon enough. MP3: Starfucker - "Born"

ALL THINGS GO WORKOUT MIXTAPE DISC 2

ALL THINGS GO WORKOUT MIXTAPE DISC 2 Wow. It's been a while since I dropped my last mixtape. It's seems like forever ago that we were saying goodbye to Summer , since now all I can think about are my freezing cold toesies. Enter the All Things Go Workout Mixtape Disc 2; here to get rid of your post-Thanksgiving pudge and complement the first edition which you hopefully have been pumping since June. This second installment was crafted back in July, but I've been so busy with the new site and school and whatnot that I never got around to posting it. No more [...]

HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND

HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND You all know by now. Pitchfork gave it a perfect 10.0 . Critics roundly worship it. Well, we're not like those suckers. We......well damnit we like Kanye even more than that. I wrote about how I felt about Kanye after his experiment with 808s and Heartbreak , and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was basically exactly where I was hoping the last album would lead. I'm not going to write a 3000 word essay describing the flawlessness of every single track, or how genius Kanye was [...]

WHISPER TO ME, HELP ME REMEMBER

WHISPER TO ME, HELP ME REMEMBER Here is a brand new jam from Cold War Kids. It is from their new album Mine Is Yours , slated for release on January 25th via Downtown Records in the US. It's pretty consistent with previous offerings from the California quartet. Solid hooks, an immediately accessible chorus and crisp studio production. MP3: Cold War Kids - Louder Than Ever -Will

WILL YOU RUN FROM WHAT YOU SEE

WILL YOU RUN FROM WHAT YOU SEE Don't run away from us! We're in the process of a painful and prolonged renovation, but it will prove to be so worth it with the launch of the new All Things Go (very, very soon). In the meantime, some old friends have returned from a long vacation. Minneapolis indie dudes Tapes 'n Tapes are back. They're going to be releasing Outside in January on their very own record label. "Freak Out" is a track from the album that should get you swaying. MP3: Tapes 'n Tapes - Freak [...]

NEVER LET A WOMAN GO

NEVER LET A WOMAN GO King Charles is a unique musician. Armed with the adorableness of Noah & the Whale, the playfulness of Mystery Jets, and the raspiness of Mumford & Sons, the regally titled London singer/outfit have been the talk of many tastemakers ever since they started their tour with the aforementioned M&S. I'm not completely familiar with his repertoire, but goddamn if I don't absolutely love what I've heard so far, in particular the catchy-as-all-hell "Love Lust." The quickened pace, seemingly effortless harmonies, and bouncy piano line come together like Voltron to form a doozy of a folk-pop single. It's a [...]

ARE YOU THERE, ARE YOU THERE

ARE YOU THERE, ARE YOU THERE We're working on getting all of our remodeling done this week, so we apologize for the slowing in posting and for any technical issues coming up in the next few days. Just because we're coming up with a pretty new site for you all, it doesn't mean we aren't still listening to heady jams. Check out another flawless Aeroplane remix, this time of new Melbourne-based Gypsy & the Cat 's "The Piper's Song." Go ahead, try to get that chorus out of your head. I dare you. MP3: Gypsy & [...]

HEARTS THAT BREAK THE NIGHT IN TWO

HEARTS THAT BREAK THE NIGHT IN TWO Here's a dark little collaboration of Bedouin Soundclash and our favorite French-Canadian songstress Coeur de Pirate, entitled "Brutal Hearts." The song has a very Lykke Li or The xx feel to it, which is just perfect for a rainy morning here in the Nation's Capital. It also features Beatrice Martin singing in English, which helps me understand what's going on in the song ( unlike other Coeur de Pirate tracks) MP3: Bedouin Soundclash - "Brutal Hearts (ft. WE REQUIRE CERTAIN SKILLS

WE REQUIRE CERTAIN SKILLS For those of you who think we're just becoming a Chiddy Bang fanblog....well, you're kind of right . But after Chiddy and Xaphoon keep dropping flawless remixes of Cee-Lo, Darwin Deez, Ellie Goulding, etc., can you really blame us? The latest gem is their reworking of The Naked & Famous' "Young Blood," which seamlessly works the original vocals and 8-bit sounding synths in with Chiddy's trademark pop-culture riddled verses. As an added bonus, check out Chiddy and Theodore Grams freestyle over the adorably hateful "Bad Day," marking the third time Xaphoon Jones has remixed Darwin Deez. [...]

ALL THINGS GO PRESENTS: THE KNOCKS | EMIL & FRIENDS | WE ARE TREES

ALL THINGS GO PRESENTS: THE KNOCKS | EMIL & FRIENDS | WE ARE TREES This Saturday ATG will be teaming up with Cantora Records and The Mill to throw a rager of epic proportions at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. The Knocks , who were recently featured in NME 's "20 Hottest Producers Right Now", will be headlining the show and should bring down the house with an absolutely killer live set (which I was fortunate enough to witness for the first time a few weeks ago). Support will be provided by the incredibly talented Emil & Friends and ATG favorite We Are Trees . [...]

EVIL BOY

We've posted a string of cool videos over the past week ( Duck Sauce , Suckers , Foals ). Now, by far the weirdest and most NSFW... The clip is for Diplo produced "Evil Boy", a song off of South African internet sensation Die Antwoord's forthcoming album $0$ . The group was picked up by Jimmy Iovine and Interscope Records last Spring. Since then they've played HARD NYC, HARD LA, supported MIA and seriously impressed the LA Times at Coachella. The strangest element of this video for me is not the [...]

YOU KEEP YOUR FACE WELL LIT

YOU KEEP YOUR FACE WELL LIT I'm not going to lie, when I found out California Wives were unsigned, I was completely shocked. Their debut EP Affairs is meticulously crafted and utterly beautiful, drawing from both new wave and post-punk influences. The EP's single, "Blood Red Youth", fully displays the Chicago quartet's enormous talent and has the potential to be an instant classic. Stay tuned for big things in 2011. LIVE REVIEW – SUCKERS @ 9:30 CLUB

LIVE REVIEW – SUCKERS @ 9:30 CLUB Brooklynites often get a bad rap. I know this because I lived in Brooklyn for 3 years and consistently got bad raps from old friends. I lived in Greenpoint and witnessed New York Magazine's so-called Sonic Boom in the fall of 2009. It really wasn't so much of an explosion, as it was friends casually hanging out with each other and making music. When one friend's band would get signed to a label, they would do everything they could to help get their college buddy, roommate or significant other signed along [...]

I GOT THE WORLD IN MY HANDS, THE MASTER PLAN

I GOT THE WORLD IN MY HANDS, THE MASTER PLAN Kanye West is one of the most highly controversial musicians of our generation, with everyone and their mother having some sort of opinion on him. Some hate him for the " I'mma let you finish " fiasco (though you have to love the internet meme-fiesta it spawned). Others hate him for his autotune experimentation on 808s and Heartbreak . Others still hate him for just being all-around arrogant and self-important. Count me out of the Kanye hate parade. I don't know what it is, but I absolutely love the guy. [...]

THANKS

THANKS A huge THANKS to everyone who came out to Rock N Roll Hotel last Friday to celebrate the release of The Dance Party's new album Touch and a re-launch of All Things Go. We promise the new site will be up very, very, very, very soon. In the meantime check out some pics that Jeff Martin was able to snag along with a download of DJ Chest Rockwell's set from the after party. A special thanks to WVAU , The Dance Party , Middle Distance Runner , The State Department [...]

SET IT ON FIRE AND BURN IT AWAY

SET IT ON FIRE AND BURN IT AWAY Brooklyn quartet Suckers premiered a new video for "A Mind I Knew" over at IFC.com on Monday. The above video is for the song "Black Sheep", a green-screen psychedelic bit. The band released their phenomenal debut album, Wild Smile, earlier this year on Frenchkiss Records and have been relentlessly touring around it. They will be hitting the stage of the 9:30 Club tonight supporting Menomena. MP3: Suckers - "A Mind I Knew" -Will

CAN YOU PICTURE MY PROPHECY?

CAN YOU PICTURE MY PROPHECY? Any time I get a chance to show love to D.C. musicians, I jumps on it . This time, it's Brenton Duvall of the Potomac Boys Club who, according to his mission statement, desires to deliver "funky jams…sunny days…everyday." I feel like that's a train we can all get on. Duvall recently released The PBC Demos , which contains a series of interesting mashups and remixes of recognizable favorites ranging from Aaliyah to Jonsi to Wale. My personal favorite, and without a doubt the mixtape's standout track, is [...]

I LOVE THIS GAME LIKE MARIO

I LOVE THIS GAME LIKE MARIO Chiddy Bang just released the latest track off their upcoming EP The Preview and it's nothing less than extraordinary. Featuring an incredibly infectious hook (courtesy of Q-Tip ), "Here We Go" is affirmation the Philly duo are at their top of their game. Looking forward hearing the rest of 8 track EP when it drops next week. MP3: Chiddy Bang - Here We Go (feat. Q-Tip)

SHE'S A WASPY GIRL

SHE'S A WASPY GIRL Holy samples Batman! I know indie folk/rock samples are en vogue (see: Chiddy Bang, Hoodie Allen, Gilbere Forte), but this one might just take the cake. Newcomer G-Eazy provides some decent lyrics to an incredibly well-crafted sample of Tennis' absolutely adorable " Marathon ." The song, about a clueless waspy girl, absolutely bangs. I promise you wont be let down. MP3: G-Eazy - "Waspy (ft. Tennis)" Love, Zack
