It's been almost three months and it's about time I post the before and after pics of the RV. It might show that I've got a history being Art Director for an Interior Magazine... haha. As you know we bought this old beauty in FL in November to become our home for the next two years. Naturally we weren't keen on keeping the turqouise carpet. And when pulling off the old pinkish wallpaper a whole bunch of waterleaks apperad as well. But most of it has been taken care of now. We spent two weeks rippng everything out [...]

Scan "Self-Portrait with Sheila " by me Howdy kiddos! How the fuck are ya? Me? Well just dandy dandy, thank you for asking... As many of you know, I've been a busy boy over at tsurufoto , takin' lots of pictures, starting a nudie blog , and, of course, running the #1 nudiezine in the world ! I've taken quite a hiatus from "new music" for a few months and I [...]
After the sterling release of their album 'Wonder' and their globally supported 'Kill Kill' EP the Parisian Techno Rockers 'WAT' have a new striking release, locked in and on the way. The suave and seductive, indie dance record 'Missile' is a refreshed 2012 re-edit which is full of European disco refinement. A teasing bass drum kicks away bringing in the infectious, foot-tapping intro which exists throughout before the finger-clicking groove sails us away guided by the uplifting guitar riffs and the [...]

A few months back the lovely Avis Elizabeth asked me to contribute to her super rad arts zine. I gladly accepted, and since I don't know how to do anything else I made a mixtape. The zine also includes much more exciting contributions like short stories, poetry, art and photography. To quote Avis, the issue revolves around "Identity. How people, places/your environment, experiences shape self." It can be a bit of a downer at times, but then again so can life. If you'd like to check out the zine you can read the whole thing for free online right [...]

We couldn't really recap 2011 without mentioning Everybody Taste's venture into the world of vinyl pressing with our very own imprint, Analog Edition Records . Analog Edition started out of a desire to press what we still consider to be the best record of 2010 onto vinyl: Los Angeles guitarist Blake Mills' spectacular Break Mirrors . Thanks to the folks at Blake's label Record Collection, we ended up with a double A-side 7" featuring two of Break Mirrors' best tracks, the two-chord foot-stomper "Hey Lover" and the Fleetwood Mac-tinged "Winter Song." From there, Analog [...]
Lately I've been noticing some things about my musical lifestyle that have led me to wax nostalgically. Clearly, the music landscape has changed drastically since I first considered myself a huge music fan back in 1989, but even as things changed, certain things stuck with me about the way I listen to music. Now, those things seem to have gone; I acknowledge that we here at ATH contribute to this changing landscape, both for the masses and for ourselves, so I'm not being critical of anyone, just stating the things that I miss about listening to music and the life [...]

The Pepsi Dub Station (check out the lineup here ) is going to come alive with colour at this year's Bacardi NH7 Weekender . This stage promises much to be excited about not just because of the performers but also because of a team of graffiti artists who have brought the venue alive. The letters and characters that cover the walls are in fact the work of five artists, who have been working around the clock to create this distinct urban aesthetic for the Pepsi Dub Station. We spoke to some of the artists about their [...]

We were pleasantly surprised when we went to our mailbox today and found the 9th issue of the Goodwill Zine . Goodwill Zine is a nonprofit youth arts publication based here in Louisville. They have released issues quarterly since June 2009 with paper issues in local shops and an audio edition for the summer. We love the concept and it is another example a great outlet for artists in Louisville. It includes a full range of content, from storytelling and spoken word to "audio drama and noise." You can pick up hand stenciled CDs and [...]

Los Campesinos! — Light Leaves, Dark Sees Back in December, Los Campesinos! announced that they would be launching a quarterly zine called Heat Rash , which would bundle each issue with a limited edition 7" and its accompanying mp3's. Here to christen the series is "Light Leaves, Dark Sees", which covers all the LC! bases: bright hooks, terminal heartbreak, and enough sugary, twee-as-fuck pop to rot your teeth clean out your head. Photo by me ... Ah prog. My beloved and maligned genre... so near and dear to my hearticles. Oh how the critics of the world hate you so, with your mixy-mashy time changes, your whimsical & fantastical lyrics about space & trees & rainbows & unicorns & shit... Add in your tendency to write 20 minute movements instead 3 minute verse-chorus-verse-chorus-brid ge-chorus songs.... OH how I love thee so. You come in so many shapes & sizes, from jazz to classical to metal to psychedelic to math to, occasional, borderline [...]

Documentary: It's a lofty goal to try and answer the question "What is Indie Rock?" and capture the whole of the late 802s to early 902s scene before the great music blog plague that is upon us now. Indie rock splintered pretty much as soon as it was born into all sorts of sub-genres. ...We had paper zines back then to rely on and the internets was not accessible to everyone - it was a discreet affair. Sure in there were music scene curators like epitonic who were listening, and many amazing [...]
