Tiger Saw asked me to help them navigate the world of mp3 blogs. I said I would help but only if they did a couple things to ensure that bloggers had all the tools they needed to write about the record. They took my advice and set up a secret blogger friendly kiosk (don't share the page!) with artwork, a .zip file, links to each individual mp3, and everything we could think a blogger might need. I'm glad to help too since I've been a fan of their music for years. The band is completely diy; they fund their records themselves and when they tour they play clubs, street corners and house concerts. I saw them last year at a house concert in Chicago and was impressed by the sincerity and the emotion that Tiger Saw puts into a performance.
I won't tell you what the record sounds like it's all right there on the .zip (except I do like the gentle samba beat of "Under a Samba Moon" and the basement funk of "Big Bear Song") but I will say that it does feature a bunch of special and not so special guests. The "not so special guests", like Nat Baldwin and Sam Rosen are cool, but strange dudes. The special guests, like Angel Deradoorian from Dirty Projectors, Annie Palmer from Canada, and Casey Dienel, are just plain cool. Anything you could do would be much appreciated by me and Dylan (the central figure in the band's history).
Oh and here's the secret link, please don't share this page but link to the individual assets it contains:
Thanks for that. So if I want to add some of the songs to my blog, should I download them first and upload them myself, or would it be ok to link to the mp3s directly?
Downloading the zipped album right now to check them out. Just a quick note to say that adding .zip to the end of the file would make life a little easier ;)
