wordpress problems

my site is not resolving and I'm getting the following error message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 368640 bytes) in /home/muzzleof/public_html/wp-content/plugins/akismet/akismet.php on line 494
Anyone know how I can fix that? -
could you delete or rename akismet.php from the backend?

deactivate askimet in your plug-ins and work from there.

I'm not sure how to deactivate the askimet plug-in because I am not able to access my control panel to do so.

can you ftp into your site?

I *think* you don't have enough memory dedicated to PHP. Ask your host and find out you many MB of PHP memory you have. 12MB seems to cover most web apps.
