Proposal: simple aggregator for indie band only
  • things that are hard to figure out quickly for posting purposes

    indie band that is

    a) really indie

    b) sounds good.

It takes enormous amount of energy for a single blog to find and check. So the whole thing just doesn't go as fast for indie bands. This compared to larger labels who has an army of promoters pushing their stuff.

    so anyway,

proposal. what if there is a simple aggregator that any blog can dump their post in if they find a band that satisfy those two conditions above.

Everybody will have an easy place to quickly search in the event they need to find total content replacement.

the major point of this aggregator will be

    - it's laziest but effective approach to extract the best indie albums quickly for everybody to find

    - it's more common denominator approach instead of exotic/specialized/rock geek.

    - It is a blog for mp3 bloggers instead of being pushed for public. A practical repository to alert/help bloggers finds popular/quality indie bands. It'll be ugly, cut and paste post repository type of joint, instead of made for good looking attraction.

    the tools

    - blogspot? easy to use, everybody has account

    - everybody will be at admin level. able to create and destroy posts, for simple list maintenance)

    - music categories? (i figure popular one would be folks, rock, shoegazer, electronic)

    - I seriously doubt anybody will read it. Probably this blog will be "search engine and RSS feed oriented) kinda like 3Hives.

    -----

or we could get a wikia page, or non public edit wiki. But wiki just doesn't seem so popular with mp3 blogger.

    okay comment?
  •  or we can nag brandon and anthony to death for a feature that everybody can simply "tag" their particular post and HM/elbo search engine quickly sort it out.
  • yeh I think tagging is the way to do this - tagging which can be reviewed/moderated by a team would be superb especially for discovering bands from different states, countries, genres etc. Tagging seems to have countless benefits, and you've undoubtedly got a base of people who would be happy to moderate, tag posts, and get involved.
