Another IE Problem
  • I just looked at my new template in IE for the first time, and the sidebar was way down at the bottom. How can I fix this?
  • Never mind. I think I figured it out.
  • I know this is a common problem, but it seems in Internet Explorer my sidebar is also pushed to the bottom of the site. I tried to remove all the images that may have been too wide for the sidebar, but now I'm stuck. Any ideas? I appreciate the help in advance!
  • yeah, im still confused on this subject too. I was notified that mine does the same on ie but i dont see it. I did do some shifting around but am not sure if it is fixed yet.

  • IE is a very fickle browser, it seems, and if you piss it off it will throw off your entire page.
  • Weird, Kyle, usually it's the images.

Our site has larger text sizes in ie and the side bar is (slightly) out of sync. I did find when I added too many emty page break spaces in our side bar, the whole thing jumped down in ie, maybe that's the problem?
  • hm ok thanks, casey. I'll check that out. it's such an inexact science that i've just been randomly removing features and seeing what happens... brings me back to gradeschool trial and error. but i suppose i have a relatively gradeschool understanding of web development.
  • Gah! I just looked at myself in IE again, and there are still errors. I really don't have time to mess with it, but oh well.
  • Clearly we just need to get everyone to start using firefox :P
  • Most definately.
  • absolutely! :)
  • that would be the best option!
  • I need to get one of those Firefox buttons for me site!!
  • do people still use IE?! in Australia most people have migrated to Firefox now :)
  • yeh a firefox button is a great idea
  • I imagine most people still use Internet Explorer in Australia too . . . you're just hanging out with smarter people. It's easy to start thinking that everyone uses firefox until you check the 'ol counter.

  • Any site using any of those options would annoy the hell out of me I think, and I'm a Firefox user.

That said, IE7 really does seem pretty good now they have taken in the best parts of Firefox..
  • Ugh, that explorer destroyer option is awful. I'm a huge firefox fan, but that psuedo-totalitarian attitude doesn't mesh very well with the communal spirit of open-source.

That said, I'll try to remember about it for next April Fools.
  • I hate IE with a passion. It never fails to screw up my site. I'm thinking about using that Kill Bill's Browser one, thats pretty funny. I don't like the idea of a script telling all my IE users to switch though.
