Hey, just wanted people to know that Calum has a new interview up at Mocking.
It's Here (with Man Man). I hope y'all don't find it too fan-boyish. If you read Calum's previous interview with Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, you can see that his enthusiasm for Man Man is real and not feigned for sucking up.
We have ones coming up with Castanets, with Xiu Xiu, and with Le Man Avec Les Lunettes. It's really amazing to see how receptive a lot of artists are to being interviewed. Although I would like if people checked out the interview, I'm also curious what experiences other people have had in contacting artists and bands. We seem to talk about contacting labels and advertisers for money and free swag more often, which is less interesting.
Mind you, I've read a ton of the conversations I missed but I haven't read them all, so appologies if I'm rehashing.
For me, there has always been greater value in contacting a publicist, rather than the band itself. Generally speaking, people are very receptive, and it works out well for everyone.
Just put up a new interview, this time with Final Fantasy (Owen). If you're a fan of either Final Fantasy or a fan of Wyrd Visions, you should definately check out the last question and answer... Interesting.
