I had a neighbor in college who was just kind of an average joe, but then he came back in the fall after summer break and had decided to go "punk." His hair had changed, his glasses frames had changed, his wardrobe had changed (drastically), his shoes had changed, his musical taste had changed.
While he was a nice guy, I found this to be beyond absurd. It was like he went out and bought a kit.
Don't you criticise us hipsters Wendy. You're such a hater, always bringing the cool kids down. CURSE YOU!
(That's such a good story, did you do the same thing when you discovered indie rock? Buy some trainers, a couple of nice colourful t-shirts, slightly loose jeans, and Bob's your uncle!)
Someone the other day told me I'd be 'really good looking' if only I 'tried Rockabilly'. I'm pretty sure that should be insulting, but maybe I need one of those kits.
