Anyone going to Pickathon?
  • The lineup is superb, and myself and Mrs. Toad will be there on Saturday and Sunday.  Anyone else around?
  • I'm not but I wish I was. I absolutely love Oregon, excessive rainfall and all.
  • I am from Scotland so it will probably not seem excessive.

Samantha Crain, Loch Lomond, Bombadil, The Gourds, Langhorne Slim, Jolie Holland... it's a pretty good lineup.
  • It's quite funny because a lot of the people that live here (Arizona desert) say they could never live in Oregon because the rain would make them depressed. Yet, I find myself depressed from the lack of rain all the time. At least if you're depressed in Oregon you have greenery to look at.

I like that Pickathon actually sticks to their genre in a reasonable way. I hear people call Coachella 'an indie festival' and am forced to giggle (or perhaps even chortle). I'd love to catch Julie Holland and Langhorne Slim. I heard some of his stuff recently and was impressed.
  • His latest album is excellent. A hodge podge of almost all sorts of Americana, but really well done.
  • Don't get your hopes up for Jolie Holland...she was truly bloody awful last time I saw her! A shame, because when I first saw her live back in the day, she really blew me away!
  • I am skipping her performance on the Friday night to go and see the Builders & the Butchers at Portland Zoo, so no worries on that count!
  • Bunch of cunts.
  • How'd the fest go, Toad?
  • Strangely, I live in portland and heard nothing of it. But then again I don't really read any local media.
  • It was brilliant - a lovely festival and the people in Portland were so nice to us it was amazing.  I've got some great interviews and some really good footage as well, all of which will be posted over the next couple of weeks.

Howdy, Stranger!
