  • Glasvegas should be taken off that list on principle.
  • I had that thought too actually Matthew!

I've already voted but damn, it was not easy!
  • i feel so conflicted about glasvegas, because i loved the song james played in this week's podcast.

i have yet to send in my vote but i have it narrowed down.
  • No conflict.  They're cunts.  That is all.

    Spineless cunts at that.
  • I'm just tickled pink that The Stills made the list--I'd not heard how well the track has gone over outside of Canada.
  • Given the selections offered, I would have to go with Bob Barr.  I mean, yikes.  Unless you could give ten negative votes, then I'm in.
  • Wow, three of my picks (Melody Gardot & the two by Felice Brothers) made it to the final cut. I think I only had one or two last year.
  • Posted by: J HoaSGiven the selections offered, I would have to go with Bob Barr.  I mean, yikes.  Unless you could give ten negative votes, then I'm in.

you get one negative vote, if that's any incentive. you should have contributed to the initial list, then maybe local h would've made the cut! ;-)
  • Yup .. everyone gets a negative vote but not everyone feels that they should use it ...

There is only a day left to vote ... so please send me your list if you haven't yet. As I said, everyone is welcome.
  • i used mine!
  • I am working on it right now... I'm a procrastinator... Shocking I know! :-)
  • You really put in a negative vote Marcy?? Shame on you! What for? I can't see anything on that list that I hate really, but there's quite a few tracks there that I don't know. I'll just have to add em to that looooong list of things to check out I guess...
  • there's only one song i'm fundamentally opposed to. last year it was a conor oberst song. this year it was ac/dc. i hope that wasn't one of your picks!
  • Ahh well fundamental opposition is an entirely different kettle of fish! Rest easy, AC/DC didn't even get a look in with me.
  • mjrc - I was fundamentally opposed to Conor Oberst last year, too. This year it was Coldplay and Vampire Weekend.
  • Mmmm, Coldplay, definitely.
  • it's funny, i have a good friend whose music taste i generally respect who loves coldplay and so for some reason i can't bring myself to totally dis them. i would never vote for them, mind you, but i couldn't vote against them, either.
  • Coldplay, detestable as they are, have one very important talent, and that is the ability to write memorable hooks.  No matter how much you hate them it's not unusual to find yourself humming along, which just makes it worse.
  • I'd have to agree there Matthew. It sure ain't the lyrics that do them any favours.

    "Lights will guide you home
    And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you"

    Woeful.
  • To whoever nominated Dark Dark Dark: THANK YOU for bringing them to my attention.
  • i've been looking at the list trying to figure out who nominated what. some choices seem more obvious than others!
  • I have no idea who chose what, though I reckon I could probably make a stab at a couple of yours Marcy! Definitely looking forward to hearing this one, that's for sure.
  • oh you do, do you? ;-) actually, this episode will likely span three weeks. at least, that's how it worked out last year. starting at #50.
  • Distinct lack of MOUNT EERIE on this list.
  • Yeah am looking forward to that too, dragging it out a bit!
