Alright, people tend to be pretty cautious about individual yayblog sentiment here. Even group yayblog back-patting causes groans. So, I'm suggesting this single thread to promote your own posts. I'm suggesting this, in part, because I'd like to be able to say, every once in a while, "look at this sweet post we have up" without being a nuisance. But, the even bigger reason is because I do a weekly blogosphere wrap up, and it'd be great to make sure I don't miss out on anything big.
Anyhow, without further ado, my first yayblog entry: Mocking Music's Pretentious List. It's really only formatted by me. All credit goes to Calum. Maybe it won't amuse you, but I thought it was pretty funny.
Casey: He emailed me regarding that post I had about looking for a columnist, and seemed really cool and enthusiastic. I haven't gotten word back from him on the details, but hopefully It'll work out.
Speaking of contests, I'm gonna have a signed Essex Green poster, button, and copy of their new album up for grabs in early-mid may. I'm cordinating it with their myspace guy, and that is cool. Plus their sending me an extra one for keeps. I can't wait!
Blog Festivals? (hey, about time somebody does this)

1. Credo -- Various ambient, folks, post rocks. Sountrack quality with narrative theme, it's what MdM is about.

1. The Murder of Reality -- old post, but still my favorite little post. It was good fun putting it together.

2. Three Versions of Judas (Part 1. 2) -- a little over indulgence, but I got to put Mum, matmos, and Mary Lou williams in one list. A lot of respond from friends.

So the red states pay a lot less than the blue states for fuel? Interesting.. Well, not really, just amuses me a little.
But "screw-job foistered upon us"?
Even the most expensive prices there are ridiculously cheap. Doing a quick conversion to your crazy imperial system, the last time I filled up I paid $6.57 / gallon. And that's still far too low to be honest.
yeah, i realized soon after i posted this that Europeans would take a bit of umbrage, which is completely true. We're still being screwed, but you all pay more.
But seriously, my siblings and my parents are paying for my grandmother to fly down this summer. I'm really looking forward to seeing her. I need to find a girlfriend though, she'll be disapointed that the three-year one is gone. :P
casey, last week you had the best quote ever regarding my blog and i threw the quote up on my myspace for the whole world to see. so for that, i want to say thank you! and give you suffocating bear hugs.
My site for the last month or so and all of May has basically been devoted to this Summer Camp Artists Series I decided to do. The basic idea is to have a post on every band playing at Summer Camp, and Central Illinois Festival over Memorial Day Weekend at the end of May. I'm currently on 19 of about 45.
The majority of the music is funk, acoustic, and techno jam bands. Hippy music basically lol. However, there's something for everyone, you just have to find the right entry.
I just posted the fourth monthly wrap-up for April. I still highly recommend this monthly feature to anyone to do for their own blog. Not that you have to do exactly what i am doing but it is a great way to bring closure to a crazy month and highlight what is still sticking to the wall. I know several other sites do it pretty regularly and it is always fun to read.
