this should probably be in a yay band! thread but.... i posted this a few days and i cannot stop listening to this album. so fucking incredible. so. fucking. incredible.
like nothing i have ever heard before. they're almost a horrible tranwreck. but i can't stop listening. i think all you indie rock nerds might be hot for this. which is why i'm sharing. because i assume 98% of elbo.ws is indie rock nerds. heads up, cuz you all will be getting all wet over this when their album comes out in six months. -

Here is my review for Baby Dayliner's Critics Pass Away. It's a dude from New York who sings and dances. Matt from The National and Aesop Rock are huge fans of his, as am I.

Though the content of the posts and reviews is mediocre at best, Joe from Stage Hymns has helped me change the old blogspot site (nay) into the newly revamped kick ass dot com site (yay). Still have a few kinks to work out, a few fonts to fix, a few types to type, but all in all, its pretty fresh. She's a fantastic songwriter and performer —I cannot believe she isn't more well-known by now. She writes lush, atmospheric Southern Gothics —heavily influenced by the Velvets, the Gun Club, and the Birthday Party.

I think this is the coolest thread, and in reading through it (this may sound weird but) I was kind of proud of all of us for taking advantage of this relatively new medium of blogging and going out there and interviewing cool folks and writing passionately about new music we like, etc. etc. etc.
So good on ya all.
And I wanted to say that I think many of you can empathize with the frustrations and joy of writing about music that I outlined in this post of my musings:
