should there be a YAYPROMO thread, too?  and not for nothing, but that FW sampler that I received in the mail is FAR FAR FAR from AP's best stuff.  lots of tossoffs on there, for seriouses.  i mean really, an instrumental?  snoozetucky.  i hope it's not indicative of the whole box, which i plan on buying regardless.

oh, and as for your comment on the AP box, of COURSE there are throwaway tunes on it! That would be the point of having 170 fucking tunes in a songwriting archive of this magnitude.

wendy, no harm intended, and you know i have nothing but love (and there's no lawsuit in the works)...it's just the same reaction I have when the Scion salesman tells me that the Scion is the best car for my money.

After over a year away - Dana from The Mystical Beast has returned

The first edition of what hopefully will become a weekly focus on politics, music, and hopefully some of the intersections between them.  It's something that I think is underexplored in music blogs, so I'd really enjoy feedback or ideas.

Starting my Top 40 of 2006 as of two days ago.  Enjoy it.  Holla.

Quick Before It Melts is celebrating its 100th post, and we feel it's quite an accomplishment to have made it this far, so we've gone all out for what is perhaps the best QBiM post yet:  Check out THE PRODUCERS.



Also worth mentioning is that as of the 100th post, QBiM welcomes Matt from Still Kisses With Saliva as a regular contributor.  I'm happy to be sharing posting duties with Matt, and hope that between the two of us we can keep QBiM updated regularly.

yeh I agree with Ryan. Although the initial YAYBLOG was about a blog post (and I mentions posts I'm proud of frequently), this post should be reserved for extra-special things... maybe self-linking should be frowned upon. Anyway, I'm not the blog police, blah blah.

also for the record, and i guess obviously given our style, "a 300-word write-up next to each track describing what it was like when the reader heard it for the first time while walking to class" is the reason i READ musicblogs.

and i normally do write a lot more accompanying my mixes.  i just didnt have time to write much for this one so i didnt.

there's no one correct way to write a music blog, but some people write music blogs well and others value their insights
