Well, Pitchfork, Chocolate Bobka, etc. picked up the Velvet Davenport single today that we originally premiered, unsurprisingly not crediting us. Bummer
I find it really difficult. It seems too rude to actually insist on calling them Loch Lomond to their face, but then calling them Lock LeMonde just sounds ridiculous too.
Got this idea on my bike ride thursday, my new comic strip, “Internettin’ Ain’t Easy”, actual conversations from quasi-anonymous world of the world wide intertubal super-love canal highways!!! Sorry for the crudeness of the scanning, still working out the kinks.
I've always thought of myself more as a reporter than a writer, in that there's little to no actual art to my writing, but Colin has the ability to really put music in a strong emotional context, which I have always both loved and been slightly envious of.
I was thinking about calling it all off at 100k and leaving on a high but i'm enjoying it more than ever, thanks to everyone on this forum for all the tons of help you have given us.
Been around here since 2006 and this is my first YayBlog. Computer-less right now but was messing with my little Tumblr blog using my "not so smart" Samsung mobile. Painful.
Noticed that I received a Tumblr "Like" for a post on the Beat Happening's 1984 S/T debut LP. The "Like" was from the dude David who runs the recently highly publicized Tumblr blog "pitchforkreviewsreviews".
The hilarious part was my post was a 100% cut and paste from someone elses older review. I don't know if I credited the other review but it was put in quotation format.
Anyways, I guess you've got to take your Yay's regardless of how you got them. Lulz
Actually the real Yay is that dude actually found my little shitty Tumblr and read it. He probably thinks I'm some stellar writer or something? Or maybe he just loves Beat Happening?
Here's two exclusive I'd done, with exclusive giveaways too.
First is with Screendeath, great producer hyped by Annie Mac etc.
(Was my first ever blog post too)

Second is with another great producer from Belgium called Faisal:

I've also a bunch of exclusive mixes DJs have done for the blog:

I've been looking for a chance to get a little bit more philosophical with a post, and I've finally done it.
Any response/feedback/ridicule about the post or blog in general would be really, really appreciated. We're tiny but our numbers seem to be growing (2-5 hits a day to 15-20ish) and I'm always looking for ways to improve.

Cool idea for a post, One thing worth doing for any music posts is to include some actual music that you think people should listen to as they read, especially when things turn into a bit of an essay!
I liked what you were talking about, nice to see a blog putting forward an opinion rather than just a recycled press release which seems to be more and more common.
Thanks Agnes, although I think that will mostly be Mrs. Toad's project. I want somewhere weird to do music things, she just wants somewhere weird because she wants to live in a strange house!
Ha! Why not? I hate designer-type chocolate box houses, all bricks and squares and no personality. The weirder the better, I reckon. I think it's called 'character'!
Hey everyone, I just started a new blog a couple weeks ago and just got approved for these forums today. Please check out my blog and submit some music suggestions:
I myself just passed 100,000 total podcast downloads. Given I have over 150 podcasts dating back to June 2007 I don't think this is very impressive, but it's a nice round number so I figured it might be worth a Yay!
Well I have no idea if it is. Could be massive or trivial, but the general blogosphere amnesty on comparing penis size tends to keep these comparisons relatively secret. In general I guess this is a good thing, though.
Again though, congrats on being listed. It made quite a big difference to my traffic and general acceptance as an 'established blogger', if I recall.
