Search Engine Traffic - What's Yours?
  • Hey folks,

I've been running Indie Shuffle from its current address about four months now, and I haven't seemed to have any hitches being indexed throughout the interwebs (have been using an SEO). Initially, I saw a steady growth, and since, a plateau. Now, I assume this to be completely normal, and it's what I expected, but I'd just like to hear from you all what your experience has been (particularly for those who have had their websites up and running for a while). How did your traffic grow over the first 3 months? First 6 months? First 2 years? Did you have a steady growth? When was it most pronounced? Are you still growing?

    - In the second month up and running, I got 1.7x the prior month's search engine traffic
    - In the third month up and running, I got 5.85x the prior month's search engine traffic
    - In the fourth (and most recent) month up, I got 1.6x times the search engine traffic

    - In the last 30 days, search engines have accounted for roughly 4.45% of my traffic
    - In the thirty days before that, search engines accounted for 3.36%

Obviously I'm a little bit of a statistics enthusiast, and I imagine very few of you will be inclined to break it down in as much detail as I did :-D

But hell, maybe you have some other metrics, and more importantly, you might be able to share your experience.
  • use search, theres a bunch of threads on/based around this

    http://elbo.ws/vanilla/search.php?PostBackAction=Search&Keywords=traffic&Type=Topics&btnSubmit=Search

    BUT

    last 30 days

    Direct - 19.59%
    Referring - 63.00%
    Search Engines - 16.62%

plateau is normal, have to look at other channels for finding fans or exposing your music.

if you're online and you can't be found, success is not around the corner
  • Well fuck me, I actually started a post on this about a month ago -- while the content is different, it looks like I picked the exact same title. Has been a long day at work it seems!

The last thread asked "how many a day?" -- I was hoping to get this one going in the direction of "how has your garden grown?"

Howdy, Stranger!
