King of Limbs
  • So, overall mixed feelings on the album -- finding it a bit slow, though it's nice to hear anything new by Radiohead. But check out this interesting observation that a buddy made:

8 songs, 2 of which were already out, released a day early, the last song is called 'Seperator" and it's last words are "If you think this is over, you're wrong" and the order says "TKOL1". Part deux tomorrow?

    Whatcha think?

  • Radiohead - No Surprises

    Lyrics:

A heart that's full up like a landfill,
a job that slowly kills you,
    bruises that won't heal.
    You look so tired-unhappy,
    bring down the government,
they don't, they don't speak for us.
    I'll take a quiet life,
    a handshake of carbon monoxide,

with no alarms and no surprises,
    no alarms and no surprises,
    no alarms and no surprises,
    Silent silence.

    This is my final fit,
    my final bellyache,

with no alarms and no surprises,
    no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises please.

    Such a pretty house
    and such a pretty garden.

    No alarms and no surprises,
    no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises please.

  • I thought the TKOL1 would be a reference to the different versions of the album that will be released. But with Radiohead I hate to second guess too much.
  • They have something up their sleeves - they always do. RIght now, a part two seems most logical to me, but I hope that it goes in some completely new direction.
  • The King of Limbs: is this Radiohead's most feminine album?

I approve of this album. Not really fond of the opening half (I do love 'little by little' because it reminds me of Ege Bamyasi) but the second half of the album is amazing. They definitely recorded more songs than these... crazy theory among fans is: King of Limbs = heart, the rest of the limbs will be a series of eps released throughout the year.
  • Not sure if it's their most feminine album but it sure has some of the most delicate songs they've crafted. Second half is particulary soulful and devoid of the usual passive agressive tone and progressively neurotic bombast sound that they've been exploiting throughout their albums.
  • This record is filed in my 'who cares' category.  I respect their business model and I am sure the release will be beautiful and very much worth buying, but I haven't been excited by their music since Amnesiac.
  • This is Radiohead.  Don't know who that other band, these days, who goes by the name Radiohead is?

  • I'm one of those weirdos that thought Hail To The Thief was actually a lot better than most people allowed for, so my opinion is clearly not to be trusted.
  • i got this album, then got rid of all my halcion.
  • I lost interest after Amnesiac, although I find their business strategies interesting to follow.  Musically though... I really am not interested these days.
