Hey guys-

It's been a hot sec since I've participated in the Elbo.ws (L-Bows or elbow or L-2-bow) community. You like that Brandon? One of the main reasons is I now actually have a 9-5. I know--shocker.

I've been helping Thrillcall build their social media. We're about to launch a music photography competition that I wanted to present to you. The competition will consist of approximately twenty bloggers, each showcasing three of their best photographs from a concert they reviewed in 2011. Over a few days, we will share the work of each participant with individual posts on our blog, and then open the polls for fans to vote on our Facebook page. The winner of the competition will receive a free SXSW press badge to photograph the festival on behalf of their blog and Thrillcall.

Currently the competition includes: Buzz Bands LA, One Thirty BPM, Remix Nation, New Jersey Underground, The Owl Mag, The Metrojolt, Couch Sessions, Sunset Rearview, The Decibel Tolls and Indie Shuffle.

If you're interested, here's how it works:

To enter, email david[at]thrillcall.com with:

-Your 3 best photos (from the same concert)
-A link to a writeup of the show, or if N/A, a 3-5 sentence recollection of why it was awesome (to be published alongside your photos)
-One link to your published work (if applicable)
-A link to your portfolio
-Your social media account/s (to announce to our audience you're participating)

Deadline for submissions is 11:59pm on 1/22 (this Sunday)

If you're chosen, we'll follow up with you. Then we'll feature your work on our blog and put it to a public vote on our Facebook page. The submission with the most votes by February 3rd will win a free photo pass to cover SXSW 2012 on behalf of yourself and Thrillcall (we'll share copyrights with you).

Voting will take place the week of 1/30-2/3 at www.facebook.com/thrillcall
