i hate to say it, but i think it might be time to start experimenting with wordpress. . .
i sent Blogger a complaint last month when they sent me a DMCA takedown notice for a post that was just text and a link to a pitchfork review. i still haven't heard back from them, which has me quite annoyed. the ridiculous thing is that the review is still sitting on my account in draft form, as i don't want to re-publish it again and get deleted!
if i start backing up posts on a free wordpress blog, is it simple to transfer to my own domain if i choose to do so in the future?

yeah... set up your wordpress, import your blogger on it, build it up the template and periodically back it up again and when you are ready, bite the bullet and flip the switch!

Speaking of blogger and music blog shut-downs, I've been considering making a move myself. I know Wordpress is good but feel like Tumblr is on the up and up. Any suggestions?

we were down for a while today thanks to some china something or another repeatedly loading my site causing an overload & ultimately a blocking by my host to everyone until I got it fixed.
Trying to fix it, wordpress broke. Got back online, but the sites jacked up until I get home and can work on it proper. Though, really, I don't have time to......
Never felt that "ah, fuck it!" feeling so much as I did today. Rather go out on top, eh? -

That's too bad - really only got into DS in the past month or two. (That said, there are a bunch of cool sites that post similar, if not the same, stuff - - Siczar's Palace, I Am No Superman, etc... and I suppose one could just check up on some of the Altered Zones bloggers to see what they're posting... DS usually trickled down that way anyhow.)

I recently went through the blog database for my PR work for the label and updated listings - added new blogs and deleted inactive ones. I was amazed and really quite saddened by how many of the ones I considered to be something to aspire to when I started out have since closed up shop.
