Ping Elbows - Beta

    For those of you who want to get faster updates, I'm trying out a new pinging service... Add http://elbo.ws/ping/ to your 'Update Services' area of your blog. For wordpress users, in your admin section go to Options > Writing and paste http://elbo.ws/ping/ on a new line in the 'Update Services' box..



    People with other blogging platforms will need to do something else.. I'll write a tutorial at some point. Once you post, you should be crawled within a minute. You're only allowed to ping once every 30 mins for now..

    about once per hour.. this is for people who would want to see their post make it to the front page pretty immediately..

    I add the elbo.ws ping to my blog and it works fine.

    I added it for MovableType and I thought it was working at first, but this keeps showing up in my log:

    failed really? it seems to ping you just fine.. does it give a reason?

    it gives a ":" like it should give a reason after but doesnt. if you say it works fine, then i'll just ignore it.

    I'm using MT and here it is in April (3 1/2 months since the last post), and I'm still getting the same error.



    Plus, my blog has never shown up on the site, even though it says it's registered...Any ideas?

    Not sure the best way to contact you, email or here but it looks like, even after a manual ping last night, elbo.ws didn't pick up either of yesterday's post, from the morning or afternoon.. I know you have my feed at http://tsururadio.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss but we've been at blog.tsururadio.com with the following feed since last year but without a problem, but maybe that's the issue now? If so, our new feed is:

    Is elbo.ws suddenly not seeing the feed? Anyways, can you check it out for me?

    Hi Brandon. I entered the following new address below into your Ping page to update our music downloads section at Beatking.com, but I don't think it worked. We are using Invision Forums as opposed to WordPress or Blogger. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for taking a look.

    Hey Brandon,

    I've just come across an issue with my Atom feed and it appeared to have stopped working about a week ago, unfortunately. This is a major inconvenience for all of us, but we got the problem fixed and here is the updated Atom feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/musiconmyradar/gGfM. Sorry, for any troubles, and I hope it is not a problem updating our feed on elbo.ws.

    Thanks for pulling this thread from the depths. I hadn't even thought about adding elbo.ws to ping and was wondering what was taking so long for my posts to show up.

    @John Lol no problem. It's a more traffic to both elbo.ws and to your own site so it's a win win.

    Also, Thanks Brandon (I'm assuming it was you) for fixing our RSS feed. I think th reason it stopped working was because we had just bought our own domain name shortly before you accepted us onto elbo.ws and blogspot must've taken a while to switch over our information from our old domain name.

    I'm not sure if my pings are working right although they seem to have gone through.  When I tried searching about 4 hours later, still not showing up on search.  How long does it take to show?  Thanks :-)
